John Cassis earned two varsity letters in baseball and was selected First Team All-City, bowled five 300 games and won the VFW National Boys Championship while at Wilbur Wright. He was a four-year letterman and team captain at the University of Cincinnati and was an All-Missouri Valley Conference selection. In the Summer of 1968 he led the Dayton Blatz Beer AA Baseball Team to the National Amateur Baseball Federation Championship. John played Class A and AA Professional Baseball with the California Angels organization and served as an inspirational speaker for the Chicago Bears from 1983-95. He also served as minister to a small church in Colorado, addressing issues of world hunger as director of special projects for World Relief and later became a professional golfer in 2002. In 2004 he became the oldest man (56 years) to qualify to the Sectionals of the U.S. Open. At the age of 64, he shot a round of 62 to set the course record at Debary Golf & Country Club in Florida. Also on his list is winning three Florida Senior Tour Events and being featured on the Golf Channel for his historic accomplishments. John is currently the founder and president of The Cassis Group, a consulting firm specializing in leadership, team building, and motivational speaking.
