Variational Models in Materials Science
Naples, 23-25 June 2026
Naples, 23-25 June 2026
Welcome to the webpage of the workshop Variational Models in Materials Science. The workshop will be held from the 23 to the 25 of June 2026 at Aula G3, ground floor of Complesso Monumentale Santi Marcellino e Festo in Largo San Marcellino 10 (Naples), a wonderful historical building belonging to University of Naples "Federico II" and to Scuola Superiore Meridionale (SSM). For more information on the venue, click here.
Scope of the workshop is to gather young and more expert scholars working on the field of variational methods in applied mathematics. This is a lively research area with a variety of interesting challenges spanning from fundamental modeling issues to rigorous mathematical foundations, at the intersection point among continuum mechanics, calculus of variations, geometric measure theory, partial differential equations, and nonlinear functional analysis.
