So, I have an Issue with VMware Fusion on my mac, Basically I have an intel macbook pro because i cant afford an apple silicon, so I wanted to run virtual machines, and basically vmware fusion was my best go, so when I downloaded the dmg file, it tells whether i want to open the file or show the disk image, i press open and it asks for the password, i enter it and the vmware fusion icon appears on my dock, bouncing, but right after I hit enter (after entering password) it disappears without giving me any errors, although one time it said vmware fusion crashed unexpectedly, other than that, it just keeps closing.

When I run it from the dmg file it closes, but no fusion in applications folder, so I dragged it to applications from the dmg file and then it asks me if I want to open it, i click yes and it asks me for password once again, i type it, press enter, it just closes, when an app opens, theres supposed to be a little dot underneath the icon, but the dot disappears and fusion closes without giving any errors, and when I do it the second time it only asks me for the password, nothing else, after i type it in, it closes again, with no errors

But thats how I did it first, i opened it from the dmg file, it shows the fusion player icon, when i double click it, i it starts to verify the app, then it asks me if i want to open it or show package contents, I press open, and then it asks me for password while fusion was running in the background (with no windows open), after i type the password in, it just closes, and is nowhere to be found

I Don't know whether the last message i sent was actually dropped here, but the thing is im very new to macos, so I tried doing all the steps and removed the traces of vmware fusion i saw on the mac, from the library to applications, and i tried to reinstall it again, but same thing keeps happening as shown in the clip

I was running Fusion 13.5.0 on an Apple M1 Studio, used the fusion new vm dialog for a windows arm install, had Windows up and running but could never get the vmwaretools setup.exe to launch and do anything trying various methods including powershell admin, etc. So could never get the integrated support for video to make it usable at all.

Now that I have a Windows ARM actually working on apple silicon with vmware tools installed and proper video drivers and such, I'm rather hesitant to attempt back to the Fusion 13.5.0 though could do this with a backup of the vm image. Since I'm up and running though on apple silicon at this point I'll likely just want for a Fusion 13.5.1 release to make that attempt.

running setup.exe from File Explorer, File Explorer as Administrator, cmd.exe, cmd.exe administrator were all the first things I tried. Would spin and then nothing, no setup.exe process would remain in task manager ever on those attempts. Alt-tab and clean reboots didn't help reveal a running setup.exe dialog ever for vmware tools. Honestly wish there was a command line install also available like we get in linux on vsphere.

Yes, just right click on the virtual machine file (on your mac), select "Show Package Contents", then select the first file that says "Your Operating System" -s001.vmdk or the biggest file and copy it to your flash drive or whatever you are going to use to transfer it to your windows machine. That .vmdk file is compatable with vmware workstation and virtualbox (a free version by oracle, but you need hardware acceleration).

I have created VMware Fusion 11.5.1.pkg file by using Composer/Package tool. while I tried to install it in new Mac installed successfully when opening the VMware Fusion getting attached error. if I use the same package for upgrade the VMware fusion from older version to new version(11.5.1) it works. be457b7860
