The Vanderlyn Library is offering curbside library book pickup (and book return)

Pickup will be available between (times subject to change):

Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. -- Pick up books from a large black bin outside the front door of the school. If you are returning books, place them in the return basket. The return basket will either be in the same bin or nearby.

Deadline to place a hold for each week's pickup: Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.

How do students request books for curbside pickup?

1. Open Destiny

2. Login to Destiny

Username: s####### (the letter 's' followed by their 7-digit student number, example: s1234567)

Password: mydestiny

3. Place a hold on the books you want (up to 3)

Search for books. (A video demonstrating how to place holds can be found above.)

Identify books that are IN and click on the three ... and then click on HOLD under the image of the front cover (see image below)

4. Can I HOLD more than one book in a series?

No

5. You may place a HOLD on books from different series (for example, one Harry Potter and one Magic Tree House, but not 2 or 3 from one series).

6. How will I know the books are ready for pickup?

Log in to Destiny, click on your name, and click on Checkouts

Items you recently placed on hold that are listed as checked out to you are ready for pickup

7. How long may I keep the books?

2 weeks

8. How does curbside pickup work?

Once you know books are ready for you:

A large black bin (see images below) will be outside the front door to the school on Fridays from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Come to the front of the school, open the bin and find the books labeled with the name of your child. You should also return books in the same bin. If the bin is too full, a second bin will be provided for returns.

PLEASE NOTE: Any books not picked up in 2-weeks will be returned to the library and will be available for checkout by others.

9. Enjoy your books!

Please do your best to return the books 2 weeks after you pick them up. Vanderlyn ES does not charge overdue fines, but we do want the books available for other students. Thank you!!!
