About the Boosters
Lending all possible support, both moral and financial, to the Van Buren Music Department
The Van Buren Music Boosters is a parent support group that raises funds for the music students and activities at Van Buren Local Schools. The Music Boosters contribute to purchasing instruments and equipment that is often the best available, thanks to consistent fundraising through the year and dedicated individuals that operate concession stands and other events.
Monthly meetings are scheduled on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the music department. All are welcome to attend!
Concessions for athletic events are a major source of funding for the Music Boosters. We are currently hosting concessions for the Varsity Football games. The candy, drinks, pizza and nachos are served out of the Industrial Arts shop while a grill for burgers, hotdogs, brats and grilled bologna sandwiches is set up outside of the shop.
Home Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball games have also been a staple for many years well as concessions for the Apple Butter Fest, held every October at Van Buren High School. Recently, Van Buren Schools have had the pleasure of hosting the OMEA State Choir AE in late April or early May. The Music Boosters and students not only provide concessions for this event, but also provide guides, judges assistants, meals for the judges, assistants with parking, and many other support functions to make it all run smoothly. All of these opportunities require a huge amount of support and dedication from our music families.
For over 50 years, the Van Buren Music Boosters have hosted a food tent at the Hancock County Fair. We have an excellent reputation in the county for the quality of our food tent - it has even been stated that people come to the fair just so that they can eat at the big orange and white food tent. Over several decades, the fair food tent has raised over $200,000 for the Music Boosters! As our major fundraiser each year, it is an important event that requires everyone to pitch in. Every music family was contacted is excited for this great cause. From unloading the truck to final clean-up, we are thankful for the support of our music families.
The Music Boosters are grateful for the support and contributions that we receive. Realizing how important it is to give, we 'pay it forward'. When we have a reasonable amount of prepared food leftover from from one of our events, it is donated to The City Mission in Findlay to help them accomplish their goal of helping those who are going through difficult times.
