ValuScan – Privacy Policy

ValuScan (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the ValuScan mobile application (the “Service”). We are committed to transparency regarding the data we process.
1. Data Collection and Usage
To improve user experience and support our free service, we integrate industry-standard SDKs that may collect certain information automatically:
Device Identifiers: We may process Advertising IDs (such as Android Advertising ID) to serve relevant ads and analyze app performance.
Usage Data: Information on how the Service is accessed and used (e.g., screen views, feature engagement).
Technical Data: IP addresses, device model, and operating system version.
2. Third-Party Service Providers
We partner with the following third-party services to provide and improve our app:
Google Gemini AI: Used for image-to-text recognition and valuation logic. Images are processed ephemerally and encrypted in transit.
Google Firebase: We use Firebase for crash reporting and analytics (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) to ensure app stability.
Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers to show personalized or non-personalized ads based on your settings.

3. Camera Access
We only access your camera when you initiate a scan. Captured images are transmitted securely to the AI engine for analysis and are not stored on our servers.
4. Advertising and Opt-Out
Users can manage their ad preferences or reset their Advertising ID through their Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
5. Data Security & Retention
Ephemeral Data: Image data is discarded immediately after analysis.
Encryption: All data transmitted to our service providers is protected by HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Retention: We do not maintain a database of user personal information. Analytical data is retained by service providers according to their respective policies.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
