This will be my tenth year teaching 6th grade Social Studies at Chamblee Middle School and I look forward to a great year!

Education

I am a local--I graduated from Chamblee High School before attending the University of Georgia where I earned a bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education. While at the University, I co-founded and served as the first president of the Club Swimming team. In our first season, we attracted ninety members to join our dynamic team.

I completed my student teaching in Cape Town, South Africa where I was able to explore Cape Point, Table Mountain, and Robben Island and learn more about the life of Nelson Mandela.

After completing my undergraduate studies, I took a gap year and lifeguarded in Sydney, Australia. While working (yes, it was work!) in Australia I was able to travel to Melbourne, Tasmania, Canberra, the Great Barrier Reef, and New Zealand's South Island.

Upon my return to the States, I enrolled at the Georgia State University College of Law, graduating in January 2010, passing the Bar examination, and becoming a member of the State Bar of Georgia in July 2010. I started working at Chamblee Middle School teaching 6th Grade Social Studies less than two weeks later and I love it!

During the Summer of 2015 I traveled to Germany as part of the Transatlantic Outreach Program for American and Canadian Social Studies teachers to study Germany's economy, government, history, and educational system and meet with leaders in German businesses and government.

I look forward to a productive and successful year!

Hobbies

In my (limited) free time I enjoy swimming, cycling, rowing, and traveling.

These are a few of my favorite things...

I love Office Depot--a store full of school supplies and a great place to go to get organized! I also enjoy Target (they have lots of great art supplies) and Amazon (which has absolutely everything).
