Vale is a local-first gallery and private media app designed to help users organize, view, and protect photos and videos on their own device.
Vale is built around a simple principle:
Your media should remain under your control.
Vale does not require an account to use core features, and Vale does not sell personal data.
Vale may access the following information on your device:
Photos and videos selected or permitted by you
Media metadata used for organization (such as dates and album names)
Biometric authentication access provided by Android for Vault unlocking
Local app preferences and settings
Vale uses this access only to provide gallery, organization, search, memory, and Vault functionality on your device.
Vale is designed to operate primarily on-device.
Your photos and videos remain stored on your device unless you explicitly export or share them using Android system features.
Vale does not upload your media to external servers as part of normal app functionality.
Vale includes a private Vault feature.
When media is moved into Vault:
Vale stores a private app-managed copy
Vale attempts to remove or hide the visible original using Android system permissions
Depending on Android version and user permissions, original files may still remain visible in other gallery apps or file managers
Vale does not claim device-level isolation equivalent to manufacturer secure folders or operating-system secure containers.
Vale may request permissions including:
Photos and Videos access
Limited media access on supported Android versions
Biometric authentication
Notifications (optional, if enabled in future versions)
These permissions are used only for app functionality.
Vale does not sell personal information.
Vale does not share your photos or videos with advertisers.
Vale does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
Vale does not use invasive tracking SDKs.
If future versions introduce optional services requiring data transmission, this policy will be updated clearly before release.
Current versions of Vale do not use invasive behavioral tracking or advertising analytics.
Basic crash reporting or diagnostic tools may be introduced in future versions to improve stability. If enabled, this policy will be updated.
Vale uses Android platform protections and app-level safeguards to help protect private content stored inside Vault.
However, no software can guarantee absolute security.
Users are encouraged to:
keep devices updated
use device lock security
use biometric or passcode protection
You may:
revoke permissions through Android Settings
remove media from Vault
uninstall Vale at any time
Uninstalling the app may remove Vault-managed private copies stored within the app.
Users should export or restore important Vault content before uninstalling.
Vale is not directed toward children under 13.
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Vale evolves.
Material privacy changes will be reflected in updated policy text and app disclosures where appropriate.
