Best Stick Vacuum for Hardwood Floors?

Cutting through all the fake adverts and hype, I've managed to come up with a list of top rated stick vacs for your hardwood floors.

See the list on Amazon.

Will it last? Will it do the job well? What will happen if it breaks down? These are some of the main questions that most people ask themselves when buying expensive stick vacuum machines.

Settling on any major appliance for your office or home can be a draining process.

There are many models to choose from and if you are not careful you might end up feeling even more confused that when you started. So it’s important to arm yourself with the right information before buying anything .

For example, if you choose the wrong type of cleaner to clean your hardwood surface, it will either leave marks or scratches or it will not pick up the dirt properly.

Ok, here are my reviews.

#1 Overall (IF you have the money for it):

Dyson V6 Cord-free Vacuum

There really is no competition: if you're looking for a machine that excels in sucking every last bit of hair or debris from your hardwood surfaces, the Dyson V6 cordless vac is the way to go.

Pros

It's the most versatile vac I've seen in a long time. It will clean other types of surfaces without any problems. Carpets too – that's what the roller bar's there for.

It's so easy to use too. If you get into any trouble assembling it, just Google the instructions and you'll be good to go.

The vac is lightweight. It weighs only 5 pounds, which should be light enough for anyone. You'll have no problems moving up and down the stairs.

You also won't have to move any furniture around.

Cons

Although great, the model isn't perfect.

The battery will last somewhere around 20 minutes, so you won't be able to clean more than 2 rooms in one go.

But that's what you have to expect from a cordless stick vac, right?

Also, the capacity of the attached canister isn't that great.

I'm pretty sure you'll get around those issues pretty fast.

Best Overall (IF you're on a budget):

BISSELL PowerEdge

If you fancy innovative designs, then this model is ideal for you.

Its creative architecture will allow you to access even the tightest of spaces in your home so that there will be no dust particles left on corners and edges.

  • It has a swivel head for easy maneuverability
  • The 20 feet power cord is long enough for easy cleaning without constantly plugging and unplugging the machine

  • it doesn't come with any attachments or a hose

Verdict

With its odd looking V-shape design, the BISSELL PowerEdge Corded Vacuum features a very effective suction technology.

It can collect both fine and large debris including pet hair without using brush rolls.

Apart from the loud sound, filter clogging up quickly, and the lack or attachments, in terms of overall quality as well as features, this vac is a great investment.

Bottom Line

The cordless stick vacs mentioned here are ideal for basic and quick cleaning jobs because they can only run for around 20 to 30 minutes. Nonetheless, the cordless feature makes them very easy to use and you don't have to plug them anywhere.

Their corded counterparts don't have the have limitations when it comes to power and running time. But they limit you to a power cord which might not be long enough to clean your entire house or room without plugging and unplugging it.

That said, corded vacuums tend to have better reviews for overall durability.
