• Local Settings and Preferences: The App stores your customized settings locally on your device (such as speech rates, pitch, volume, preferred TTS engines, and voice variants per language) using local storage management. This data never leaves your device.

• App Routing and Configuration Data: If you configure specific app-to-engine routing rules, they are stored securely and locally on your device to ensure seamless multi-engine or mixed-language text-to-speech output.

2. Permissions Explained

To deliver core functionalities, the App requests certain Android permissions. Here is why we use them:

• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE):

  • Why we use it: To run continuous, uninterrupted text-to-speech synthesis and background audio playback reliably, even when the App is minimized or running in the background.

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):

  • Why we use it: To display essential foreground service status notifications, allowing you to control or monitor active speech playback and background operations.

• Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE via Emergency Volume Key Service):

  • Why we use it (if enabled by you): To monitor specific hardware key shortcuts (like volume keys) globally to trigger emergency text-to-speech actions or accessibility features smoothly across your device. This service only listens for the designated shortcut keys and does not log, store, or transmit your private keystrokes or personal communications.

• Query Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES / Package Visibility):

  • Why we use it: To detect other installed Text-to-Speech engines on your device, allowing you to select and route languages through your preferred third-party engines within our advanced settings screen.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

• No Data Selling: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or local configuration data to third parties.

• Offline Functionality: The core TTS routing and configuration features operate completely offline on your device.

• Third-Party Engines: If you manually choose to route text through external third-party TTS engines installed on your device, the text processing is subject to the respective privacy policies of those third-party engine providers.

4. Children's Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since the App functions locally without tracking personal user accounts, it is safe for general audiences.
