This policy describes how the app handles information. It applies to users of the mobile application published under the names above.
This app is an educational beekeeping encyclopedia developed with support from the Beekeepers Association of Uzbekistan and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) collaboration efforts. The app is intended for beekeepers and learners in Uzbekistan and other regions.
Most features work offline. Reading articles, search, favorites, reading progress, quiz scores, and calendar settings are stored on your device only.
We do not require an account to use the app.
Personal data is collected only if you choose to submit an article for editorial review (name, contact, text, optional files).
We do not sell your personal data.
The following data stays on your phone or tablet using local storage (Android SharedPreferences) unless you use article submission:

You can clear this data by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
If you use “Мақола қўшиш” (Submit article), you may provide:
Full name
Email address or phone number (for moderator follow-up)
Article title and body text
Optional attachments (PDF, DOC, JPG — up to 4 files, max 2 MB each per file)
This information is sent to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) in project beekeeping-encyclopedia for editorial review only. Moderators may contact you using the contact details you provided. Submissions may be approved, rejected, or edited before any content appears in a future app update.
We also store technical metadata with submissions, such as app version, submission time, and file storage paths.
We do not collect:
Precise GPS location
Contacts from your address book
Microphone or camera data (unless you attach a photo file you choose in the file picker)
Payment or banking information
The app does not include advertising SDKs or behavioral tracking for ads.

Wikimedia content is subject to Wikimedia’s terms and the license shown per image.
The app can show local notifications for beekeeping calendar reminders you configure. Notification permission is requested on supported Android versions. We do not use notifications for marketing.
On-device data: Kept until you clear app data or uninstall.
Article submissions: Retained in Firebase until reviewed and handled according to editorial workflow; may be kept longer for moderation records unless you request deletion.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of a submission you sent by contacting the project administrators (see Section 11). Because most app data is local, deleting the app or clearing its storage removes on-device information.
If you are in a region with data protection laws (e.g. GDPR), you may have additional rights regarding personal data you provided in a submission.
The app is an educational reference tool. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 through article submission without appropriate consent. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us to request removal.

We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
