Final announcement in the Uxbridge Cosmos September 28, 2023...

After 25 very successful years supporting local students with the pursuit of music at the post-secondary level, the Uxbridge Music Scholarship Trust has disbanded.

The funds remaining in the Trust account ($11,000) are being donated to the Music Department at Uxbridge Secondary School under the direction of Amy Peck.

Thanks to the UMST Committee, local Service Clubs, the Uxbridge community and the many recipients of Trust funds over the years for making music education a priority.

History of Uxbridge Music Scholarship

Perceiving a need to provide dedicated students with assistance in pursuing their musical goals, local members of the musical community inaugurated the Uxbridge Music Scholarship in June 1998. The Optimist Club of Uxbridge provided funds for the first scholarship. Generous support has come from other Uxbridge Service Clubs, area organizations and individuals. Other funds are derived from our concerts as well as from recitals by students and supporters.
