About Us

What is the Student Bar Association?

We are the governing body for law students and registered student organizations. We bridge the gap between the legal community, the administration, faculty, and students. To create the best environment for the school we rely upon the students to inform us of the changes they need and want.

Please join us at SBA meetings on Thursdays from 12:30-1:20pm in Room 119.

Questions? Email us at uwsba@uw.edu or use the forms provided under the "Report a Problem" and "Contact Us" tabs.

The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the governing body for all University of Washington law students and student organizations. The purpose of the SBA is to:

  1. Promote useful student activities among the students of the University of Washington School of Law

  2. Foster a professional outlook on the part of such students

  3. Promote and to bring about contact and cooperation between the members of the Association and the members of the Bar and community at large

  4. Maintain a close relationship between the members of the Association and the members of the Law School faculty, staff, and Administration

  5. Carry on and promote such activities as shall be to the best interests of its members and of the school.

The SBA carries out these goals through organizing, funding, legislating, and advocating.
