Farid Khosravikia

Farid joined the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin at a PhD student in 2016. He received his Bachelor’s degree (2013) in civil engineering and Master’s degree (2015) in structural engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. His main research interests have centered around assessing and enhancing resilience of man-made environments, especially those at risk of seismic hazards. In 2018, while studying for my PhD, he obtained an additional Master’s degree in sustainable systems from The University of Texas at Austin, where he focused on the application of machine learning techniques in sustainable hazard-resisting urban systems. His specific areas of interest include: (1) Application of machine learning techniques on characterizing seismic hazard of urban areas; (2) Structural reliability and risk analysis of built environments; (3) Network analyses and systems engineering of urban infrastructures for infrastructure-level risk and resilience based decision making.
