She was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Before coming to UT for doctoral studies, she worked in research and faculty position in Bangladesh. Now, she is pursuing her Ph.D. research on seismic performance of self-centering rocking braced frames. Besides her work, she enjoy traveling to new places, watching movies, and meeting new people.
