Anne Mae Stienberger

Enlisted in the US Navy in November 1967, from McClusky ND. Discharged from the Navy as a PH3 , in July 1970. Reenlisted as a PH2 to the Reserves in 1975. She attended Boot camp at RTC (W) Bainbridge and had further training at the Photography School in Pensacola, FL. Serving at the Naval Photographic Center, NAS Anacostia, DC, P.A.O at Alameda CA in the Public Affairs Office and the Naval Reserve Office, NAR DIV Y1, & NAF 514, Detriot, MI.

Assigned as an Ensign in 1975 serving as an Intelligence Analyst with Unit 2214 Investigative Operations & Fleet Intelligence Rapid Support Team, Europe and Atlantic, promoted to LCDR in 1773. She was trained as part of ACDUTRA school, in basic intelligence training, imagery interpretation, ASW-OPCON; and advanced intelligence analysis.

Steinberger spent 11 tours with the Fleet Intelligence Center and as a Director of Naval Intelligence at the Pentagon. She also spent five months in TEMAC, training in CINCLANT & JCS exercises, Other duty stations included Ocean Venture 82, Solid Shield 83, Ocean Venture 84 as the Fleet Ocean Surveillance and Information Center Advisor.

Her awards include the National Defense Service Medal (Vietnam), two personal and two unit Commendation letters. She had two sons after marriage to CDR Frank Stienberger who also served in the Navy Reserves.
