Anne Ducey

Enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves on November 20th, 1942 in Haverstraw New York. She was commissioned as an Ensign in December of that year. Anne was released to inactive duty in May of 1946 and retired as a Captain on September 1st 1974.

She studied in Midshipman School and had training in BUPERS, Washington DC in the subject of Enlistment Classification. She spent time in OCS, Newport, RI on staff as a Plane Officer on NAVBASE . Her service record also lists service in Officer Distribution during BUPERS. During her time at Bainbridge she was a Commanding Officer.

Her education continued at Mount Holyoake College, and Naval War College. Ducrey served as Assistant SECDEF for Education at the Department of Defense, Naval Reserve Training Officer at COMFOR, in Philadelphia PA, CNO in OP-D1 Personnel Allocations , Washington DC, on the Educational staff at AFSC Norfolk, VA & Joint Chief of Staff for J-1 Personnel.

Her award jacket includes American Theater, WWII Victory, National Defense Service Medals for Korea and Vietnam, Legion of Merit medals, JCS and OSD Badges.

Post WWII Ducey was an Occupational Counselor for the New York VA, was an educator at Garden City High School. She never married and was an active supporter of her local choir throughout the years.
