Center for Food and Wine History

The Center for Food and Wine History is a multidisciplinary research cluster at University of South Florida, dedicated to the study of global foodways from antiquity to the present. It promotes scholarship on the dietary and drinking habits and culinary practices of past societies. It also fosters research on the agricultural and industrial production of food, wine, and other beverages across time and place. Through collaborative humanistic, social scientific, and scientific inquiry, our affiliates provide wide-ranging political, economic, social, and cultural perspectives on the history of food and drink.
