On a new page in your journal write down the Focus Question; How strong are the magnets used at home? Complete the Home/School Connection – Week 1,B. Make a list of the items that are attracted to magnets. Draw and label the system you use to test their strength in your journal.
On the next page in your journal write down the Focus Question; What causes change of motion? Be as detailed as you can when you are answering the question. Complete the Home/School Connection – Week 1,C.
On a new page in your journal write down the Focus Question; What kinds of tops can we make with common materials found at home? Complete the Home/School Connection – Week 2, B; Investigation 2: Patterns of Motion Try to come up with several different shapes and sizes. Compare their results.
BONUS ACTIVITY - How do windmills work? Draw a picture of a windmill in your journal. Write down what force is needed to make it work. Do you notice a pattern of motion? How can we use what we know about forces and motion to help us generate renewable energy?
