Furthermore, as a driver, it is important to note that it does not give your device the ability to connect to WLAN networks, but only provides the appropriate configuration and protocol to your network adapter so that it can connect to wireless networks.

For this reason, make sure you have an integrated network adapter or a Wi-Fi dongle, the hardware necessary to connect to any wireless network. Without the hardware, the driver package will not work in any way.

Thanks for your response. I am working with Msft and they are working on a solution. Unfortunately, Netgear has a forum that has a very large volume of posts, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I've scoured my user guide, the web, and as I said before.. My router can only block a specific protocol/svc and port combination, or an IP address, or a web site. And the only info I have on my intruders is their Mac address. I know how to create an AP, but don't have any desire or need for one. I was just lucky I was snooping around when I updated drivers. I feel certain it's a windows issue because I bought a Wireless Adapter for my desktop, and it came with software to help you set it up. I decked to use the software, even tho it's a pretty simple install.

If the Intel wireless adapter you are using is listed below, please upgrade your driver to Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software version = 20.70.0 (or higher version) to resolve the connectivity issues in 802.11ax routers.

The issue may be that there was never offical compatiblity for the TL-WN725N V1 with windows 10. The chipset maker may have made one but TP-Link never confrimed the V1 of this adapter would work with Windows 10. Also it has been seen that each time MS updates Windows 10 there is always a chance current drivers will not work or have issues. In situations like that the Chipset make in this case realtek will have to look at the cause and develop a solution for that chipset. Since we do not give offical support for Windows 10 the best solution would be to check with Realtek if this particualr chipset will recieve an update for the new Windows 10 build.

Disabling and re-enabling the network adapter, in network settings in control panel, uninstalling the network adapter and reinstalling it in device manager, updating drivers, rolling back to previous versions of drivers, checking for any outstanding windows updates using an ethernet connection.

Hey mate - you mentioned drivers but you didn't mention firmware. Firmware would be the first step i'd go through. You should also try and maintain your fleet to have the same version at all times. And where are you downloading the latest drivers from? You want to validate they are the right ones. I've seen the wrong ones cause this issue so many times, even when everyone thinks they are the same - sometimes identical models have slight variations on the wireless cards, this can cause you to need to install slightly different drivers. Also not sure whay your wireless infrastructure is like, you mentioned you have 4000 users - so sounds like a massive issue. I'd look for logs if it goes to authenticate and fails might be best to look up the security logs of whatever tools your using, should helpt to narrow down the why.

Try changing the MAC address of the wireless NIC and see if it then behaves differently. If your driver does not have the option to change the 'Network Address' in the advanced tab of the NIC properties, you can try Technitium: e24fc04721
