If you want deep passive noise isolation for a side sleeper who needs to block out snoring or street noise, choose Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds; if you need a wireless, washable headband with all-day battery life and sweat resistance for active use or open-ear comfort, choose Navly Sleep Headphones. Both products aim to solve the same fundamental problem: helping you sleep or focus without external distraction. However, their engineering approaches are so different that they appeal to two distinct types of users. One is a wired, in-ear solution designed specifically for total silence, while the other is a wearable band that prioritizes convenience, hygiene, and versatility.
• Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds: Offers exceptional passive noise cancellation (70%–90%) via soft silicone earplugs and a built-in microphone for calls; the trade-off is the wired 3.5mm connection which limits movement and requires a compatible jack.
• Navly Sleep Headphones: Delivers wireless freedom with a 12-hour battery life, a fully washable fabric headband, and multi-use functionality as a sports band or eye mask; the trade-off is reliance on Bluetooth latency and no physical barrier against outside noise compared to earplugs.
• Best for: The Ururtm pick is ideal for light sleepers, side sleepers, and those needing to block specific noises like snoring for zoom calls or meditation.
• Best for: The Navly pick suits active individuals, runners, yoga practitioners, and anyone who wants a hands-free experience without anything inserted into the ear canal.
The Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds are engineered for one primary goal: creating a silent sanctuary inside your ear. They are not active noise-canceling headphones with electronic processing; instead, they rely on a "double layers design" made from extremely soft, flexible silicone to physically seal the ear canal. This passive approach is what makes them uniquely effective for people who lie on their side. Because the earbuds are tiny, rounded, and encased in durable but pliable material, they sit flush against the ear without protruding. This means you can toss and turn without the device digging into your pillow or causing pain, a common complaint with bulkier sleep headsets.

These earbuds are particularly valuable for the person whose sleep environment is noisy. Whether it is a partner's snoring, the hum of an air conditioner, or traffic outside, the flanged design effectively blocks 70% to 90% of ambient sound. Even when disconnected from any audio source, they function like high-quality earplugs, dampening sudden noises that might otherwise jolt you awake. For someone trying to get work done or take a break during the day, this level of isolation is hard to beat.
However, the Ururtm earbuds come with a significant constraint: they are wired. They utilize a standard 3.5mm jack, which means you must have a device with a headphone port or an adapter to use them. While they include a built-in microphone and touch controls for skipping tracks or answering calls, the cord tethers you to your phone or music player. If you are looking for the best sweat-resistant earbuds for zoom calls where you might be moving around the room, the cord could be a hindrance. But if your priority is absolute silence and you stay relatively still, these are a superior choice. They are also perfect for listening to audiobooks or white noise apps via a dedicated player, ensuring you fall asleep faster without the worry of battery drainage.
The Navly Sleep Headphones take a completely different path by abandoning the in-ear plug entirely. Instead, they integrate ultra-thin HD stereo speakers directly into a soft, breathable mesh headband. This design is built for versatility and hygiene. The headband is constructed from a blend of nylon, polyester, and spandex, giving it a cool-touch feel that stretches to fit most head sizes comfortably. Unlike the disposable or semi-disposable nature of some earplugs, this product is fully washable. You can remove the speakers and throw the fabric band in the laundry, which is a massive advantage for anyone who sweats heavily during sleep or uses the device for workouts.
This product shines for the active user. It functions as a 4-in-1 tool: a sleep mask, a sports headband, a Bluetooth headset, and a pair of headphones. The material absorbs sweat and keeps ears warm, making it suitable for running, jogging, or yoga. The wireless capability removes the frustration of tangled cords, allowing you to move freely around your bedroom or even leave the room without disconnecting. With a rechargeable battery that offers over 12 hours of playtime after a 2-to-2.5-hour charge, you won't wake up to a dead device. The automatic shut-off feature ensures that if the battery does run out, it simply powers down quietly rather than emitting a beep that could disturb your rest.
For those seeking open ear headphones for zoom calls, the Navly option provides a comfortable, hands-free experience. The built-in microphone allows you to take calls without removing the headband, keeping your ears free from pressure. However, because there is no physical seal in the ear canal, it cannot block out loud snoring or construction noise the way the Ururtm earbuds do. It relies on the volume of the audio stream to drown out distractions. If you are a heavy sleeper or live in a quiet home, the Navly is likely sufficient. But if you need to create a vacuum of silence, this open-ear design might let too much background chatter through.
• Best for side sleeping: Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds win decisively due to their low-profile, non-protruding silicone tips that won't press into your cheek against the pillow.
• Best for hygiene and maintenance: Navly Sleep Headphones are the clear winner here; the washable fabric band can be cleaned regularly, whereas the silicone earbuds require careful wiping and storage in their case.
• Best for total noise isolation: Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds provide 70%–90% passive noise reduction, making them the only choice for blocking loud environmental sounds like snoring or traffic.
• Best for battery life and wireless freedom: Navly Sleep Headphones offer 12+ hours of wireless playback, eliminating the need for a constant power source or a charging cable during the night.
• Best for active use: Navly is superior for running, yoga, or working out thanks to its sweat-absorbing material and IPX-style durability implied by its sports headband design.
• Best for wired simplicity: Ururtm works with any device that has a 3.5mm jack, requiring no pairing process, no firmware updates, and zero setup time.
• Best for call clarity in a static position: Ururtm's in-ear mic placement may offer slightly better voice pickup in quiet rooms, though Navly's hands-free mic is convenient for mobile use.
• Best for an all-day wear companion: Navly's lightweight headband feels less intrusive over long periods compared to inserting anything into the ear canal, making it great for naps or office work.
In my opinion, I would choose the Navly Sleep Headphones for general daily use and zoom calls where mobility matters. The ability to wash the device and the wireless freedom make it far more practical for a modern lifestyle. I love that it doubles as a sports headband, offering value beyond just sleep. However, if you are a side sleeper who is constantly disturbed by a snoring partner or a noisy neighbor, the Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds are the only logical choice. Their physical seal is unmatched for pure silence. Ultimately, if your goal is to block out the world, go with Ururtm. If your goal is comfort, versatility, and a clean, wireless experience, Navly is the smarter investment.
Both products feature built-in microphones. The Ururtm earbuds are excellent for stationary calls where noise isolation helps you hear clearly, while the Navly headband offers better flexibility for moving around during a call.
You should remove the speakers from the Navly headband before washing the fabric band. The Ururtm earbuds should be wiped clean with a soft cloth and stored in the included carrying case; they are not machine washable.
The Ururtm Soundproof Sleep Earbuds provide superior noise cancellation through physical passive isolation (blocking 70%–90% of sound), whereas the Navly headphones rely on volume to mask external noise without a physical seal.
No special application is required for either product. The Ururtm earbuds connect via a standard 3.5mm jack, and the Navly headphones pair directly via Bluetooth with any standard smartphone or tablet.
