If you want best open ear earbuds for fishing scenarios where you need to hear your surroundings while listening to audio, choose Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds; if you need superior noise isolation with adjustable volume control for deep sleep or noisy environments like a busy campsite, choose Clicar Ear Plugs.
• Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds: Their biggest strength is the wired design that eliminates battery anxiety and the ultra-lightweight silicone build that allows side sleepers to rest without pressure. The trade-off is their fixed noise reduction level of 70-90% without any ability to adjust the sound profile for different activities. This pick is for those who prioritize long-wear comfort and simplicity over customizable features.
• Clicar Ear Plugs: Their standout feature is the unique Switch 2 technology that lets users toggle between three distinct modes—Quiet, Engage, and Experience—to adapt to snoring, conversations, or live events. The trade-off is the more complex mechanism and the specific requirement to select the correct size (XS, S, M, L) from four included pairs to achieve a proper seal. This pick is for users who need versatility in noisy settings or require a custom fit for sensitive ears.
The Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds are engineered for the person who struggles with the physical sensation of wearing anything in their ear while drifting off. I look at the design specifications, and what stands out immediately is the weight. At just 15 grams, these earbuds are practically featherlight. The manufacturer has encased the sound components entirely within a soft, durable silicone covering that feels seamless against the skin. For someone who tosses and turns throughout the night, this lack of bulk is critical. They are small enough to fit comfortably in smaller ear holes, yet they stay secure because the silicone has a slight grip that prevents them from falling out during movement.
These are not active noise-canceling headphones in the electronic sense; they rely on physical sound isolation. The data suggests they can reduce outside noise by 70% to 90%. This is significant for blocking out the low rumble of street traffic, the chatter of neighbors, or the hum of a television in the next room. If you are an insomniac trying to listen to an audiobook or calming meditation tracks to fall asleep, these provide a solid barrier without the complexity of wireless charging or app controls. The inclusion of a built-in microphone and volume controller means you can manage calls or skip tracks without reaching for your phone, which is a convenience factor often overlooked in sleep gear.
However, they are strictly wired devices with a 3.5mm jack. This limits their use to older devices or requires an adapter for modern smartphones, but it also means you never have to worry about a dead battery ruining your sleep session. The frequency range is listed between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, which suggests a focused output designed for clarity in speech and relaxation rather than bass-heavy music. They come with a storage case and a one-year warranty, signaling that the brand intends for them to be a reliable, long-term tool for better rest. You should buy these if your primary goal is to block out ambient noise while sleeping on your side, or if you need a lightweight solution for travel that doesn't add bulk to your pillow. Skip them if you need to hear your environment clearly or if you require adjustable noise reduction levels for different parts of your day.

The Clicar Ear Plugs are built for the user who demands control over their acoustic environment and needs a product that adapts to multiple situations beyond just sleep. Unlike standard foam plugs, these are reusable, washable silicone units designed for long-term use. The most compelling aspect of the Clicar design is the Switch 2 Adjustable technology. This dial allows you to instantly shift between Quiet Mode, Engage Mode, and Experience Mode. In Quiet Mode, the device reduces noise to within 30 decibels, creating a sanctuary suitable for sleep or concentration. In Engage Mode, it allows for easier conversations, and in Experience Mode, it provides crisper sound for live events like concerts. This versatility makes them an excellent choice for travelers or musicians who need to protect their hearing in loud venues but still communicate effectively when necessary.
Fit is paramount with Clicar, and they address this head-on by including four pairs of ear tips in sizes XS, S, M, and L. This ensures that whether you are an adult, a child, or elderly, there is an ergonomically designed tip that fits your ear canal perfectly. The silicone material is skin-friendly and soft, meaning you can wear them for extended periods without pain. The packaging includes a compact carrying case with an integrated lanyard, making them incredibly portable for commuting on planes, subways, or busy streets. The noise reduction capability is rated at 20-26dB, and the manufacturer notes that they can reduce noise above 60dB down to within 30dB. While they do not offer complete isolation, this level of attenuation is ideal for dampening snoring or machinery noise without creating a vacuum effect that some users find uncomfortable.
You should choose Clicar if you need a single pair of earplugs to handle sleeping, swimming, and noisy work environments. The ability to wash and reuse them makes them a cost-effective alternative to disposable options. However, the complexity of the switching mechanism might be a hurdle for someone who wants a "set it and forget it" experience. The patented design and stylish black appearance also make them a practical gift for light sleepers or frequent travelers. If you are looking for in ear headphones for fishing where you need to hear water splashes or birds while listening to audio, the Engage Mode offers a middle ground, though the specialized nature of fishing audio might require a different form factor. These are best for those who value customization and durability over absolute silence.

In my opinion, the Clicar Ear Plugs are the superior choice for most people because of their adaptability. The ability to switch modes gives you the freedom to use them for sleep, travel, and social interaction without needing to carry multiple products. The inclusion of four sizes ensures that almost anyone can get a comfortable, effective seal, which is the most important factor in noise reduction. However, if you are a dedicated side sleeper who finds even the slightest pressure painful, the Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds might be the better companion for your pillow due to their featherlight profile. Ultimately, for fishing, where situational awareness is key, the Clicar's Engage Mode offers a safety advantage that the fixed isolation of the Ururtm cannot match. I would recommend the Clicar Ear Plugs for their balance of comfort, versatility, and intelligent design.
The Ururtm model works well for listening to audio while stationary, but the Clicar Ear Plugs are better suited for fishing because their "Engage Mode" allows you to hear environmental sounds like splashing water or birds while still dampening background noise.
Yes, the Clicar Ear Plugs are made of high-quality, skin-friendly soft silicone that is washable and built for long-term reuse, unlike many disposable alternatives.
No, the Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds use physical sound isolation to reduce noise by 70-90%, rather than active electronic noise cancellation technology.
The Ururtm Sleep Soundproof Earbuds are likely more comfortable for side sleepers due to their extremely low weight of 15 grams and their snug, flexible silicone design that minimizes pressure on the ear.
