2023 Model
Please contact Dr. Brown (brownreb@uri.edu) if you are interested in participating in this year's research. As of May 25, there was still one kit available for the 2023 model.
(This is the last year of the grants which have supported the production of these kits. There are no plans for a 2024 model.)
May 9 - 9 kits left! Shipped 28 Friday May 5, another 21 on Monday. May 1 - we have manuals online (links below) and at the printer... some requests are in and should be able to ship at the end of this week. April 12 - I think I may have finished the software. Pretty close, for sure. Working on documentation. As of March 20, we are almost done building parts, the last circuit boards should arrive this week, and we hope to be shipping kits early in May.
We expect to provide the following as soon the content can be made available. Supplemental information is broken out into these pages (click the title; theme is a bit subtle):
I noticed some mistakes while making the videos, so please see the Corrections
Assembly videos from start to finish (coming in May)
PDFs of the Operating Manual and Quick Start guide
Videos demonstrating the operation of the scarecrow (coming in May; 2022 is similar)
Recordings of some of the sounds the scarecrow makes to let you know its status (coming in May; 2022 is similar)
CAD Rendering of 2023 model
An incomplete (I'm sure) list of problems that have been encountered and possible approaches to investigation and (hopefully) fixing it.
