If you want open-ear comfort and translation features for mobile gaming, choose Urbanista Solar Powered Hybrid; if you need a case that replenishes its charge in light and multipoint connectivity, choose TAGRY Hybrid Active Noise.
That said, these products suit different priorities: TAGRY has an open-ear design and a stated 56-hour total playback figure, while Urbanista adds solar-assisted case charging and can connect to two devices at once.
• Urbanista’s biggest strength: Its case can recharge in natural or artificial light; the trade-off is that the buds are in-ear, not open-ear.
• TAGRY’s biggest strength: Open-ear clips and a stated 56 hours of playback with the case; the trade-off is that it does not list solar charging or multipoint pairing.
• Urbanista: A fit for buyers who want light-powered case charging, hybrid ANC, and convenient switching between a phone and another device.
• TAGRY: A fit for buyers who prioritize an open-ear wearing style, longer stated case-supported playback, and built-in translation features.
• For mobile gaming: Consider whether you prefer an in-ear seal and multipoint pairing or an open-ear clip and a larger stated total-playback figure; neither sheet specifies gaming latency.
Urbanista’s Phoenix earbuds make the most sense for someone who wants to reduce how often they need to plug in a charging case. The case uses Powerfoyle solar-cell material and can recharge from natural or artificial light when exposed to it. The earbuds themselves are listed for up to 8 hours of continuous playback, with a 34-hour reserve in the case. That is a practical combination for a routine that includes commuting, work, or travel, especially if the case often sits somewhere with access to light.
The in-ear design, hybrid active noise cancellation, and transparency mode make Phoenix the more conventional choice for someone who wants to manage how much of the outside world they hear. Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint is another useful distinction: the earbuds can pair with two devices at once, which can make switching between a phone and computer more convenient. Automatic in-ear detection pauses audio when an earbud is removed and resumes it when returned. Three sizes of silicone tips are included, and the earbuds are rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
I’d consider Phoenix if solar-assisted charging and two-device pairing matter more than an open-ear fit or a high total-playback figure from the case. I’d skip it if you specifically want earbuds that leave the ear open, or if you’re choosing primarily for mobile gaming and need a stated low-latency mode: the product information does not specify one. Its light-powered case is a useful design feature, but it does not establish how quickly the case recharges in any particular lighting condition.
TAGRY’s H37 takes a different approach to fit. Its open-ear design uses a C-shaped ear clip, so it rests around the ear rather than sitting in the ear canal. That can appeal to people who dislike silicone tips or want an open-ear style for everyday listening. It also has hybrid active noise cancellation, touch controls, and Bluetooth 5.4. The stated playback is up to 7 hours on a full charge and up to 56 hours with the charging case.
The most unusual feature is its built-in translation system. TAGRY describes support for 164 languages, including real-time voice and video call translation, dialogue, voice notes, and photo translation. The case also has an LED display for checking energy levels. If you travel or regularly communicate across languages, those features may be more relevant to your purchase than gaming. TAGRY also describes compatibility with phones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs, though it does not specify simultaneous two-device pairing.
I’d look at TAGRY if open-ear comfort, translation tools, and a larger stated total-playback figure are your priorities. I’d be more cautious if you want the light-recharging case that Urbanista offers, or if an in-ear fit is important for your listening routine.
• Best for solar-assisted case charging → Urbanista Solar Powered Hybrid. Its case can recharge when exposed to natural or artificial light.
• Best for a higher stated total playback figure → TAGRY Hybrid Active Noise. TAGRY lists up to 56 hours with its case, compared with Urbanista’s 8 hours in the buds and 34-hour case reserve.
• Best for pairing with two devices at once → Urbanista Solar Powered Hybrid. Its Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint feature is specifically described for two-device pairing.
• Best for an open-ear clip design → TAGRY Hybrid Active Noise. Its C-shaped clip and open-ear structure differ from Urbanista’s in-ear design with silicone tips.
• Best for built-in translation functions → TAGRY Hybrid Active Noise. Its listed tools include real-time translation and photo translation.
• Best for transparency listening → Urbanista Solar Powered Hybrid. Its transparency feature lets outside sounds reach you through the earbuds.
• Best for checking case energy on a display → TAGRY Hybrid Active Noise. Its charging case has an LED display.
• Best for mobile gaming based on clearly stated gaming features → Neither has a stated advantage. Neither data sheet lists gaming latency or a dedicated low-latency mode, so choose by fit, charging, and the other features you’ll use.
For someone searching for the best open ear headphones for mobile gaming, TAGRY is the only one here with an open-ear structure. That is a design match, not proof of a gaming advantage: the listed specifications do not say how quickly game audio syncs with what’s on screen. If you use best open ear earbuds for mobile gaming as your search, TAGRY is the closer match on fit, while Urbanista is the in-ear alternative.
My Verdict
In my opinion, I’d choose Urbanista Solar Powered Hybrid for mobile gaming if I wanted an in-ear fit, transparency mode, and the option to pair with my phone and another device without disconnecting.
Its light-recharging case is a distinctive convenience, although I wouldn’t mistake that feature for a stated gaming-performance advantage.
I’d choose TAGRY instead if open-ear wear, translation tools, or its 56-hour case-supported playback figure mattered more.
Neither product lists gaming latency, so I’d base the decision on those concrete differences rather than assume one will deliver better game synchronization.
Neither data sheet specifies a gaming mode or latency figure, so there is no documented gaming-performance winner. TAGRY has the open-ear design; Urbanista offers in-ear tips, transparency mode, and multipoint pairing.
Yes. TAGRY describes the H37 as open-ear earbuds with a C-shaped clip that sits around the ear. Urbanista Phoenix is an in-ear model supplied with three sizes of silicone tips.
Which has longer stated battery life?
Value depends on which features you’ll actually use: TAGRY lists open-ear wear and translation functions, while Urbanista offers light-powered case charging and multipoint pairing. Check the current price on Amazon using the page’s button, then compare it with your priorities.
