Julian, Syd, Haley and Cecil spent a day in East Oakland talking to Judy Juanita, author of the short story Cabbie, and her brother Skipp about the Lovelle Mixon case and gentrification in Oakland. We started at World Ground Café on Macarthur then walked to the sidewalk where Lovelle Mixon was pulled over and shot the first two cops, then we went to the apartment where he shot the second two cops and where he himself was killed. We then ended the tour in Fruitvale at the location of the infamous Ghost Ship Fire.
