Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Introduction

UrbanDev Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the VAT Calculator mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App immediately.

We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information We Collect

The App is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our servers.

Information stored locally on your device only: • Calculation history — your VAT calculations are saved locally on your device using your device's storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. • Premium status — whether you have purchased the premium upgrade is recorded locally on your device.

Information we do NOT collect: • Your name, email address, or contact details • Location data • Device identifiers (other than those processed by third-party services detailed below) • Usage analytics or behavioural data

3. How We Use Your Information

Since we do not collect personal data ourselves, we have no personal data to use, share, or sell. All App functionality — including calculation history, currency preferences, and premium status — operates entirely on your device.

The legal basis for processing any locally stored data is your consent, given when you first use the App and agree to this policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data generated by the App (calculation history, settings) is stored exclusively on your device using standard Android secure storage mechanisms. We implement no server-side storage of user data.

You may delete all App data at any time by clearing the App's storage via your device Settings, or by uninstalling the App. Clearing history within the App also permanently removes those records from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services which may collect certain technical data independently. We do not control these services and encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Google AdMob (free users only) Free users see a single banner advertisement provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers, IP address, and advertising identifiers to serve contextually relevant advertisements, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Premium users see no advertisements whatsoever.

Google Play Billing In-app purchases are processed exclusively by Google Play. We do not receive, process, or store any payment card details. Transaction verification is handled directly between your device and Google Play's servers. Google's handling of payment data is governed by the Google Payments Privacy Notice.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time premium upgrade. All payments are processed securely by Google Play. We receive only a notification of successful purchase to unlock premium features on your device. We do not have access to any financial information you provide to Google Play during checkout.

7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. • Right to rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate data. • Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"). • Right to restrict processing — you may ask us to restrict how we use your data. • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a portable format. • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

As we do not collect personal data, these rights are primarily exercisable in relation to data held by our third-party service providers (Google AdMob, Google Play). To exercise your rights in relation to Google's data processing, please visit myaccount.google.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data rights have been violated.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at the address below. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we update the policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via an in-app message.

Your continued use of the App after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
