Data Practices Statement / Privacy Notice — Upload to Instagram. StoryTeller
This notice describes information-handling practices associated with Upload to Instagram. StoryTeller (the “Extension”). The Extension is intended to operate with limited data processing and without requiring users to provide personally identifiable information. By installing or using the Extension, you acknowledge this notice.
A. Operating Model
The Extension is provided as a browser-based tool. Its operation may involve routine technical processing that is commonly required to keep software functional, reliable, and resistant to misuse. Any processing described below is intended to be proportional to these goals.
B. External Platforms and Independent Policies
The Extension may be used in connection with third-party websites, services, or platforms, including Instagram. Those services operate independently. This notice does not modify, replace, or describe third-party privacy practices, and the Extension publisher does not control how third parties process information.
C. Information Typically Not Required
Use of the Extension does not require creating an account with the publisher. The Extension is not designed to request personal identifiers in ordinary use. As a result, we generally do not request or intentionally collect information such as:
name or surname;
email address or phone number;
payment details;
physical address; or
login credentials.
D. Categories of Non-Personal Information That May Be Processed
To support operation, compatibility, and troubleshooting, the Extension may process limited non-personal information, including:
Environment and compatibility signals
Examples include browser type/version, operating system details, language/locale settings, and other basic diagnostic context used to ensure correct behavior across different setups.
Reliability and diagnostic records
Such records may include error events, stability/performance logs, and similar operational signals used to detect faults, resolve issues, and prevent repeated failures.
Network-level data in standard communications
Where the Extension communicates over the internet, an IP address may be processed as part of ordinary network routing and delivery. This is a standard characteristic of online communications.
Random internal identifier (UID)
The Extension may generate a randomly created internal identifier (“UID”) during installation or first activation. The UID is not derived from personal information and is not intended to identify an individual. It may be used to distinguish anonymized technical sessions, support routine integrity checks, and maintain operational continuity. The UID may also include (or be associated with) the installation timestamp.
E. Use of Processed Information
Where processed, the categories above may be used for purposes such as:
enabling and maintaining Extension functionality;
ensuring compatibility, stability, and expected performance;
detecting, preventing, or limiting misuse and automated abuse;
identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues; and
improving reliability and user experience over time.
Information is not processed for the purpose of selling personal data.
F. Local Storage and Settings
The Extension may store limited configuration data locally (for example, preferences or cached operational configuration) using standard browser storage mechanisms. You can remove local Extension data by clearing the Extension’s data in browser settings or by uninstalling the Extension.
Depending on how the Extension interacts with supported pages, certain functions may rely on cookies or similar browser technologies. Cookie controls are generally available through your browser settings, and restricting them may affect feature availability.
G. Promotional Content (If Enabled) and User Controls
Under limited circumstances, the Extension may display promotional content (for example, in a new tab context). Such displays are intended to be infrequent and not to materially interfere with browsing. Promotional content does not require collection of personally identifiable information and may be presented based on general Extension activity. Where offered, promotional content can be disabled via the Extension settings.
H. Service Providers and Disclosure
Non-personal technical information may, in limited circumstances, be processed by service providers who support infrastructure, diagnostics, or operational needs. Where applicable, such providers are expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.
Disclosure may also occur where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property, including in connection with investigating misuse.
I. Security Measures
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards may be used to protect information processed in connection with the Extension, such as access limitations and standard security practices. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be fully secure.
J. Children
The Extension is not intended for individuals under 13 years of age.
K. Updates
This notice may be updated from time to time. The current version will be made available through the Extension listing page or another appropriate channel. Continued use of the Extension after changes are published indicates acceptance of the updated notice.
L. Support Contact
For privacy-related questions or requests, please use the support contact method provided in the Extension listing.
