Genesis and Rising Band
Classes are not held on Early Dismissal days, Parent Teacher conferences, or other days when school is not in regular full day session.
Genesis Band classes include a 3pm and 4pm session per ASA week.
At the conclusion of 3pm ASA sessions, a student can take the 4pm bus home, or continue to another ASA.
At the conclusion of 4pm ASA sessions, students must be collected (pick-up).
Attending 4pm Session without a 3pm ASA:
After School Care (ASC) is available for those Upper Primary students who are unable to go home on the bus and return at 4:00pm. All Grade 3-5 students registered in a 4:00pm ASA Activity will automatically be registered to attend ASC.
4pm ASA session after ASC or 3pm ASA.
Students are collected from the 5th floor playground after the ASC or 3pm ASA dismissal.
Full Year (Term One and Term Two) ASA Upper Primary Band Course Tuition Fee = $13,500.
Two 45-minute learning sessions per week, pre-concert rehearsals and concert experiences during the year according to the Band ASA calendar.
Materials Levy = $1,300
The material levy ensures that students have access to the necessary resources and materials to support their musical education and development.
The Materials Levy covers essential supplies such as:
Method books, sheet music, and maintenance or consumable items like cork grease, reeds and oils.
Emergency Loan instruments cleaning, maintenance and upkeep as well as Learning Support resources.
Rehearsal access and maintenance of percussion and large or unique instruments.
Genesis and Rising Band students are invoiced for Tuition fees & Materials Levy totalling $14,800* (Full Year course).
*Materials and curriculum are prepared during summer. Enrolments processed after June 13, 2025 will be invoiced at $15,800.
ACE acknowledgement is required to complete enrolment.
Students cannot attend class until the tuition Band ASA invoice has been paid with receipt lodged and ACE acknowledged.
Instrument Loans for Band learning can be provided on application at $1.000 per school year (invoiced at registration).
The Instrument Loan Levy is applied if your child uses a Loaned Band instrument, and is additional to the Tuition and Material Fees. With the Instrument Loan, the invoice total is $15,800 (Tuition, Materials Levy and Loan Levy) on confirmation of ensemble placement. (Before June 13, 2025).
Instruments loaned through the program remain the property of MicraMusic Ltd..
Instrument ‘wear and tear’ is anticipated, but damage due to mishandling will be repaired at the parent’s expense.
Students are encouraged to 'Practice for Progress' and commit to the team goals.
Attendance at all scheduled classes, pre-concert rehearsals, and performances are expected from each member of the musical team.
Concert participation is expected. In-school or community performances may also be held.
Concert Dates are provided in advance. As a school endorsed activity, students also attend a pre-concert rehearsal and they may need to miss another scheduled ASA to participate in the compulsory 'dress' rehearsal on the day of the concert.
Musicians' Concert attire is white top and black bottom. Please help you child prepare this uniform.
For continuity and to experience the full program students are expected to attend a full year class.
Parent support is crucial in the students' success in the program.
Monthly Home Practice records should be signed off by parents each month.
Please review the Afterschool Conduct Expectations for both the student and parent consent and acknowledge.
Pre Concert rehearsals are held in the performing venue prior to the concert. Concert dress of White Top (shirt / blouse) and Black Bottom (skirt / pants and shoes). Everyone is invited to attend the concerts.

All Genesis and Rising Band musicians will perform at least twice during the school year. All concerts are listed above. Concert attendance is confirmed in advance.
Please add these dates to your calendar.
Being Respectful, Responsible, Kind and Safe are expected at all ASA activities.
Please review the ACE with your child and acknowledge via the ACE Google Form.
Learning materials and online home practice resources are provided.
Online practice resources and material links should not be shared.
All printed material can be retained by the student.
Copyright of created resources is held by MicraMusic Ltd.
Consumables are provided for the students [Materials Levy].
Responsible use of consumables is expected for each student.
Students should take responsibility to not damage or misplace resources and consumables.
Classes missed due to illness or appointments are not ‘made-up’ for the individual who missed the class.
Class content and ‘practice/homework’ is viewable after the class on the designated web page.

Students returning from Camp are not expected to attend ASA on the day of return.
Parents should notify the Activities Office 3pm absence, or change of 4pm dismissal as needed.
If civil unrest, pandemic situations or Government directives arise during the school term, MicraMusic Ltd will not provide refunds, credit notes or transfer of fees.
If such situations occur, the program is designed to continue in Blended (Online) Learning.
In either learning delivery mode, students will enjoy a full course program.
Opportunities to join Holiday Camps or other similar initiatives may be provided to enhance music learning.
You will be notified via email if any changes to the published calendar occur.
No refund will be available for classes cancelled due to weather warnings, school closures or other directives from the school.
No refund is available if a student is absent due to illness, school camp, or during an ACE withdrawal.
Paid tuition, materials levy, or instrument loan levy is non refundable if a student withdraws from the course.
Students who leave Hong Kong may apply for pro-rata reimbursement and withdrawal must be requested in writing. A 1.25% surcharge is applied for refund administration.
The Band & String ASA program is a comprehensive full-year course aimed at providing students with a thorough musical experience. Tuition for the program covers not only the scheduled weekly after school classes but also includes pre-concert rehearsals and concert experiences throughout the year. This structure ensures that students have ample opportunities to develop their skills, collaborate with peers, and participate in performances, enriching their overall musical education. Therefore, refunds are not available for any missed classes.
Completion of enrolment implies consent to the use of photographs, video and sound recordings of your child in performances and class in print, media and online.
Personal Data is managed in accordance with Hong Kong laws and ordinances.
Students will not be accepted into the class until the program invoice fee has been paid.
One ensemble placement, and invoicing the fees are immediately due and payable.
All fees are non-refundable and no credit offered for withdrawals once students are accepted into the class.
We reserve the right to change venue & time with prior notice.
Lessons will finish on time. Please collect your child promptly.
No refunds or make up classes will be provided should lessons be canceled because of inclement weather, school closures or other HKIS / Education Bureau / Government directives.
In the unforeseen event of school closure due to pandemic or unrest, MicraMusic Limited reserves the right to provide online classes and will continue the term for the full length as previously advertised, in this new format.
No refunds or make up classes are offered should students be unable to attend a scheduled class for any reason.
