Band Basics Information, Policies, Fees
The selected day will remain the same in both Term One and Term Two.
Classes are not held on Early Dismissal days, Parent Teacher conferences, or other days when school is not in regular full day session.
Dismissal after Band Basics Class
At the conclusion of 3pm ASA sessions, a student can take the 4pm bus home, or continue to another ASA.
Tuition Fee - Full Year (Term One and Term Two) ASA Band Basics Course = $7,500.
One 45-minute learning sessions per week, during school term according to the schedule [26 classes per year].
On submission of this registration the student will be offered a Placement on first or second choice day.
Band Basic course participation is available to 13 students in each class only.
Materials Levy = $1,300
The material levy ensures that students have access to the necessary resources and materials to support their musical education and development.
The Materials Levy covers essential supplies such as:
Method books, sheet music, and maintenance or consumable items like cork grease, reeds and oils.
Emergency Loan instruments cleaning, maintenance and upkeep as well as Learning Support resources.
Musical and Scientific experiential materials.
Instrument Loans = $2,000
The Music Instrument Loan Levy is applied for all Band Basic students and is additional to the Tuition and Material Fees. Each student is issued Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Saxophone and Practice Snare Drum instruments according to the rotation schedule.
The Music Instrument loan enriches the curriculum by promoting accessibility, practical learning, responsibility, and skill development fostering a vibrant music education environment.
Authentic instruments enhance a musician's confidence and performance skills
Take home instruments enhance and reinforce the Learning Experience through home practice and sharing.
Maintenance and Care Education encourages commitment, responsibility and a sense of ownership during the learning process.
Instruments are age appropriate, high-quality and professionally cleaned and serviced.
Instrument ‘wear and tear’ is anticipated, but damage due to mishandling will be repaired at the parent’s expense.
Instruments loaned through the program remain the property of MicraMusic Ltd.
Band Basic students are invoiced for Tuition fees [$7,500], Materials Levy [$1,300] and Instrument Loan Levy [$2,000] totalling $10,800* (Full Year course).
*Materials and curriculum are prepared during summer. Enrolments processed before the last day of school (June 13, 2025) will be invoiced at $10,800.
Fees are immediately due and payable on confirmation of course placement.
Students will not be accepted into the class until the tuition fee has been paid , receipt and ACE acknowledged, enrolment processed, and ASA Class list is confirmed.
Bank fees and charges should be borne by the buyer.
Program Enrolment is on receipt of payment and ACE acknowledgement. Tuition Receipt of Payment can be lodged via this Form.
Attendance at all scheduled classes is expected from each member of the musical team.
Students are encouraged to 'Share Progress' and commit to the team goals.
Band Basics students bring their instruments to each class.
Parent support is encouraged for the students' success in the program.
For continuity and to experience the full program students are expected to attend a full year class.
Please review the Afterschool Conduct Expectations for both the student and parent consent and acknowledge.
Being Respectful, Responsible, Kind and Safe are expected at all ASA activities.
Please review the ACE with your child and acknowledge via the ACE Google Form.

Online course resources and material links should not be shared.
All printed material can be retained by the student.

Consumables are provided for the students and inclusive of Material Levy.
Responsible use of consumables is expected for each student.
Students should take responsibility to not damage or misplace resources and consumables.
Classes missed due to illness or appointments are not ‘made-up’ for the individual who missed the class.

Students returning from Camp are not expected to attend ASA on the day of return.
Parents should notify the Activities Office 3pm absence, or change of 4pm dismissal as needed.
If civil unrest, pandemic situations or Government directives arise during the school term, MicraMusic Ltd will not provide refunds, credit notes or transfer of fees.
If such situations occur, the program is designed to continue in Blended (Online) Learning.
In either learning delivery mode, students will enjoy a full course program.
Opportunities to join Holiday Camps or other similar initiatives may be provided to enhance music learning.
You will be notified via email if any changes to the published calendar occur.
No refund will be available for classes cancelled due to weather warnings, school closures or other directives from the school.
No refund is available if a student is absent due to illness, school camp, or during an ACE withdrawal.
Paid tuition, materials levy, or instrument loan levy is non refundable if a student withdraws from the course.
Students who leave Hong Kong may apply for pro-rata reimbursement and withdrawal must be requested in writing. A 1.25% surcharge is applied for refund administration.
Completion of enrolment implies consent to the use of photographs, video and sound recordings of your child in performances and class in print, media and online.
Personal Data is managed in accordance with Hong Kong laws and ordinances.
