This course offers a dynamic experience where children can experiment with brass, wind and percussion instruments like Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Flute and Snare Drum. Students rotate through these instruments to learn, enjoy, and share the fun of making music.
The program provides instruments and materials for learning, nurturing curiosity about musical instruments and the creation and science of music.
Band Basics serves as a stepping stone for students to enter the UP Band ASA Instrumental Music Program or engage in community music activities for pleasure.
Commitment
Course = 45 minutes per week
Home practice or sharing of classwork achievements 15 -20 minutes per week.
Enhance fine-motor and social skills through musical instrument exploration.
Experiencing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) concepts in Instrumental Music contexts.
Develop skills in personal management, working as a team and being flexible through learning band instruments.
Boost self-esteem, learn perseverance, develop social skills and friendships, through being "In the Band".
