UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN SYNCHRONIZED FIGURE SKATING
The U of M synchro team competes at the Collegiate and Open Collegiate levels. Each year we roster between 18 and 22 skaters for Collegiate, and 8 or more skaters for Open Collegiate. We welcome all skaters who have juvenile moves or higher. The team currently includes skaters from all over the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico to represent a vast range of schools and majors within the University.
UMSST is the 2017 Collegiate National Champions! The team has finished on the national podium for the last 9 consecutive years including gold in 2017, silver in 2016 and 2015, and pewter in 2014. This year, we have expanded our program to include an Open Collegiate team.
At Michigan, our skaters have the opportunity to obtain a world-class education while representing U of M, a Big Ten school, in competitions all over the country. Members of the synchro team take their education seriously and successfully balance academics with athleticism.
In addition to representing the University of Michigan on a National level, we are proud to be a part of the school spirit surrounding Michigan and its athletics. At select home Men’s Hockey games, we perform entertaining routines after the completion of the first period. This season, we are also continuing looking forward to supporting the Michigan Men’s Ice Hockey Team by shoveling the snow in between periods!
