Summary
The workshop will focus on what today we typically call Virtual, Augmented, Mixed, or eXtended Reality (VR/AR/MR/XR) or Metaverse, without limiting our thinking to today’s terminology and technology. Both University of Calgary (UofC) and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) share the research interests and relevant expertise in XR, not only for the developments of fundamental techniques, but including the broader XR application domains. We will come up with concrete, yet practical short-term collaboration plans between UofC and KAIST for the upcoming 2–3 years, while pursuing and preparing long-term synergistic research and educational collaborations over the next 5–10 years.
