Constant Pressure: Cooling of Air

Purpose: 

This demonstration shows that the pressure increases as water is heated up and changed to steam.

Description: 

Place an uninflated balloon around the neck of a flask. Submerge the bottom of the flask into both hot and cold water and observe how the balloon expands and contracts.

Equipment:
Flask, balloon, hot and cold water, kettle to heat water
