Purpose:Â
The drinking bird has a felt head and beak that needs to be wet. It can be started by alcohol or mixed alcohol with water. Evaporative cooling causes vapor to condense in the neck, rises liquid up, and rises the center of mass of the bird. When the bird dips the water, the vapor draw the liquid towards the tail because the tube on the tail left the liquid and has low pressure. When the bird goes back, the procedure start again.
Description:
Wet the head part of the drinking bird to stimulate the rising of liquid in the bird to its head. The bird should rock forward into a cup of water once the liquid reaches the top of the bird.
