Purpose: 

Flip a one-meter tube containing lead shot ten times. A thermistor embedded in one end measures the temperature.

Description:

A plastic tube contains 0.5 kg of lead shot and a thermocouple. The tube is rotated in the vertical plane causing the shot to fall. The rotation is repeated 20 times. The initial and final temperatures are measured.
