Unread Checker for Zoho Mail is an independently developed Chrome extension that counts unread messages in Inbox folders authorized by the user and displays a combined total in the browser toolbar.
The extension processes the following information only as necessary to provide its stated functionality:
Zoho OAuth configuration entered by the user, including Client ID and Client Secret
OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens issued by Zoho
Connected Zoho Mail account identifiers, mailbox email addresses, and display names
Inbox folder identifiers
Unread-message results, scan timestamps, scan status, and error information
The scan interval selected by the user
The extension calls Zoho’s unread-message API to count messages. Message identifiers may be processed temporarily during a scan to avoid duplicate counting. Message bodies are not stored.
Information is used only to authorize access, locate authorized Inbox folders, count unread messages, display mailbox status and unread totals, schedule automatic scans, and refresh or revoke Zoho authorization when required.
OAuth configuration, refresh tokens, mailbox information, scan settings, and scan results are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on the user’s device. Access tokens are stored in browser session storage. The extension does not use Chrome synchronized storage.
Network requests are sent directly between the extension and Zoho’s official accounts and mail services over HTTPS. The developer does not operate an intermediary data server.
The extension does not sell user data, use user data for advertising, use user data for creditworthiness or lending, or share user data with data brokers. It contains no analytics or behavioral tracking.
Locally stored information is retained until the user removes the associated account, clears the extension’s storage, or uninstalls the extension. Removing an account causes the extension to delete its local authorization and attempt to revoke the refresh token with Zoho. If revocation cannot be completed, the user can revoke access through Zoho’s Connected Apps settings.
The extension never requests or stores the user’s Zoho Mail password. Zoho sign-in takes place on Zoho’s official OAuth page. The extension requests only read-only Zoho Mail scopes.
The use of information received from APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide or improve the extension’s disclosed single purpose, is not used for advertising, and is not made available for human reading except where required by law, security, or the user’s explicit request.
This policy may be updated when the extension’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a revision is published.
