If an applicant whose admission at the U of A is conditional based on completing another degree program, or another degree program is a prerequisite of their admission to the new program, and the applicant has not yet completed their previous degree program at the time they submit their application or accept their offer of admission, they must have done so by the time they first register in their new program at this university (see Conditional Admission to a Concurrent Graduate Program ). If they have not, their application will be subject to a reassessment.

If a student intends to resume work on their program, they must apply for readmission and have their program reassessed in accordance with the regulations in force at that time. Readmission is not guaranteed. If a student is recommended for readmission by their department, the student will pay a readmission fee, which will be assessed in addition to standard program fees in effect at the time.

This program supports the learning needs of professionals in the areas of municipal government planning, development, and bylaw enforcement. Designed to match the complexity of a variety of municipal government planning needs, it empowers students to use theories and models as a means to address problems, apply critical thinking, and develop a cooperative spirit for their day-to-day professional activities.

Enrolling in the program is a requirement if you want to earn the certificate. You may apply for admission as you start your studies or, if you prefer, after you have taken one or more courses.

The requirements above apply to students enrolled on and after July 1, 2022. If you entered the ALUP Certificate program prior to July 1, 2022, please refer to the requirements that apply to your credential.

If you know what program you would like to study, then you are almost ready to apply. Check the admission requirements for your program and institution to find out about admission deadlines. Next, submit your application online or directly to the institution of your choice. Then, provide the necessary documents to support your application. Finally, once you're accepted, apply for your study permit.

Enrolling in the program is a requirement if you want to earn the certificate. Your application may be submitted before, during, or after completing the course Introduction to Residential Interiors, but you must apply before commencing your second course.

If you've already taken university-level courses, have related on-the-job experience in your field of study, or need to upgrade or finish high school, explore how to transfer that learning to your new post-secondary program by searching for transfer credit options.

The Law Centre has comfortable classrooms, a state-of-the-art moot courtroom, a computer lab, wireless Internet service, student lounges and services, and a coffee shop. In 2008, a new one-stop Student Services Centre opened, together with more classrooms, increased research space, and a second moot courtroom. The Law Centre is connected by pedways to buildings housing the Fine Arts faculty, a student shopping and residence mall, and Rutherford Library, as well as many other university buildings.

Dr. Gaang Lee joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta in 2022 after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on making construction sites, buildings, and cities "sympathetic" to people so that workers and users in the surroundings can be safer, healthier, more productive and comfortable. To this end, he has been applying wearable biosensors, deep learning, adaptive signal processing, extended reality, robots, and GIS techniques and integrated them with psychophysiological and social theories, while filling important gaps in the body of knowledge in construction, computer science, and psychophysiology.

Early Admission: Early Admission is available to Grade 12 students with Canadian high school transcripts who apply by February 1. Early Admission is based on your official Grade 11 transcript - with required Grade 11 courses and any completed Grade 12 requirements.

To teach in Alberta, you are required to hold a valid Alberta teaching certificate. Your first step is to apply for Interim Professional Certification (IPC) so that Alberta Education can assess your educational and professional qualifications. It is important to note Alberta Education is the only body that can assess credentials for teaching authority in Alberta.

Individuals must still apply for Alberta teacher certification and will be eligible for either an Interim Professional Certificate or a Letter of Authority (LoA) with the same scope of practice as authorized by your valid teaching certificate from the other Canadian jurisdiction.

All teachers in Alberta require a minimum of 16 years of formal education, which includes a 4 year university degree with a pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution. The teacher preparation program must lead to teacher certification in the jurisdiction where the program was completed. It must also include:

The Alberta Certification of Teachers and Teacher Leaders Regulation requires applicants applying for teacher certification to present evidence of proficiency in at least one of the 2 official languages of Canada, English or French. Proof of language proficiency ensures that teachers are able to communicate effectively in all modes (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in English or French prior to entering the classroom.

The FTLP has several showcase features. It includes a unique two-term Professional Development course, which focuses on pre-articling skills training and which is designed to equip internationally-trained lawyers with the practical legal skills necessary to compete in the articling placement market-place. All lawyers wishing to practice in Canada must do approximately 12 months of articles and the FTLP has a dedicated Career Advisor to guide and assist students in acquiring articles.
