We invited the members to come get silly with us in this theatrical clowning Saturday Morning Club workshop. Clowning in the theatre uses improvisation, humour, and physical comedy to explore feelings and create characters. The participants first learned a bit about clowning in the theatre. They played with improvisation, did clowning exercises, started developing a clown character, and then created short clowning scenes or entrees to share with their loved ones at pickup time. So much fun!

The Saturday Morning Club (SMC) offers fun, stress-free stand-alone workshops on such topics as Theatre Games, Physical Theatre, Mime, Masks, Singing, Musical Theatre, Dance, Choreography, Puppetry, Clowning, Improv, and much more. The age-range is Grades 2-6.
There are two sessions during the school year: Fall (October and November), and Winter/Spring (February to April). Each session consists of five meetings over 10 weeks (every 2nd Saturday).
The SMC Winter/Spring Session will start on February 28 and continue on March 14, 28; April 11, 25. Please note that after this session, the SMC will be on hiatus until October. At the present time, we are taking registrations for the Winter/Spring Session only.
The membership fee is $20 each for the Fall Session and the Winter/Spring Session. If a member is registered in October for both Sessions, the fee is $30 for the two. In addition, there are dues of $2 every time the member comes. Please note that dues are not collected retroactively.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SMC MEETINGS ARE NOW HELD IN THE ATV BUILDING
(THE WHITE BUILDING UP THE HILL FROM THE MAIN BUILDING, ON THE SAME PROPERTY).
It is important during the late Fall and Winter months that members bring a pair of indoor shoes to change into. Boots are not allowed in the Meeting Room or Dance Studio, and (for safety’s sake) we prefer that children are not in just their socks.
