The theme for the meeting was “Hats”. The participants had to pick out a hat then act out the character suggested by the hat they were wearing. The group was then divided in two, with each group creating a skit featuring all the characters suggested by the hats. Hilarious!
The Saturday Morning Club (SMC) offers fun, stress-free stand-lone workshops on such topics as Theatre Games, Physical Theatre, Mime, Masks, Singing, Musical Theatre, Dance, Choreography, Puppetry, and much more. The age-range is Grades 2-6.
There are two sessions during the school year: Fall (October and November), and Winter/Spring (February to April). Each session consists of five meetings over 10 weeks (every 2nd Saturday).
The dates for the SMC Fall Session will be announced at the beginning of September. The membership fee is $20 each for the Fall Session and the Winter/Spring Session. If a member is registered in October for both Sessions, the fee is $30 for the two. In addition, there are dues of $2 every time the member comes. Please note that dues are not collected retroactively.
It is important during the late Fall and Winter months that members bring a pair of indoor shoes to change into. Boots are not allowed in the Meeting Room or Dance Studio, and (for safety’s sake) we prefer that children are not in just their socks.
