SUMMARY / CLARIFICATION:
OOC:
Now look... I know this looks long... but it's definitley a shorter description instead of the other stuff in this page and trust me it's LONG. There are over 32 different pages that make up this site. I spent a lot of time on it so I would definintley appreciate reading through it as it's a fun read. Feel free to mention any errors or continuity mistakes in this website to me on discord (flare__s) as well as any suggestions. Here's a 'shortened down' version of this site. Enjoy :D
Present Day:
Introduction:
An unknown individual attempts to gain access to an encrypted drive (through the storage portal) and view it's contents, entering a correct pin, they are able to view the personnel file of a person who seems to work for the foundation, going only by the designation: undesignated. Nothing adds up, something is being hidden.
The access pin given in the beggining in the storage portal opens up the drive under the account name User-00, an account that looks to have administrative power on this encrypted drive. As they continue to sift through the lack of information on the drive, they uncover a clearance-based lock on the access logs.
In the beggining, the file contradicts itself by saying that it both collects and doesn't collect access logs, something that intrigues the person logged in as User-00. They continue to look through, eventually being asked the oh-so familiar question: 'How does the black moon howl? '. In a comic answer, they enter 'Fuck if I know', granting access deeper into the drive.
As another section of the drive decrypts itself, more files are visible, the first being a more in-depth unrestricted access log. Opening it, you notice only three entries with the rest being wiped; there's definitley something being hidden. The three entries are set to 'persistent' and pinned. The user reads that a new addendum was created to the personnel file, with the clearance requirement to view the addendum also being updated. Searching further, the user notices the addendum file path; they click on it.
Important Files:
A wave of new files appear in the file managing software, although their still encrypted requiring another answer to the question
'How does the black moon howl '. They enter the same answer as before, continuing to the section labeled under 'Classified'. A page titled 'Viewing' pops up on the screen blocking all visibility to the other files asking whether or not the user would like to see files under the classified section.
Three file paths are finally unlocked: '[The Unnamed] ', '[Keller Family] ', '[Classified Operations / Protocols] '. The user continues in chronological order, opening the first folder first.
Another, this time more menacing and ominous warning is shown. Under threat of death and Alpha-1 deployment, User-00 enters the answer to the question one last time - his hands shaking. He hits the enter key, luckily entering the next stage. A warning page is shown describing the containment protocols of SCP-4000-SEP obviously skipping over some parts. Two more folders are uncovered: '[Anomaly Description] ' as well as '[Past Names] ' with the latter having a large amount of files labelled alphabetically A through G below it. Reading through, User-00 accepts the warning agreement, and progresses to Anomaly Description:
The Fae:
The Fae are a antediluvian race of powerful, ancient, and magical beings often linked to nature and folklore intrinsically tied to nature and magic. They are depicted as otherworldly, with abilities that defy natural laws, and they are closely associated with mythological fairies or elves. The Fae once had a grand civilization but suffered a catastrophic downfall, leading many of them to be trapped in alternate dimensions, such as SCP-4000. Their morality is alien to humans, making them unpredictable and sometimes malevolent
[...]
The Nameless have control over names. Put simply: if you call a Fae a name that is not controlled by it then it will have access to memories, location knowledge, and more regarding the name spoken; if a Fae calls you a name, and you accept it by either repeating it or allowing it to continue then the Fae will have power over that name, and in some regards your memories, and control over you.
[...]
User-00 reads through a rather unsetlling description of a humanoid anomaly that posses mystical abilities of control over words and identifying names. They're described in a folklore and mythological way, slightly relieving the user, however they notice the vast sea of addendums under the other section '[Past Names] ' implying one of the entities exist among the foundation.
Keller Family:
For your own sake, User-00 skips over the '[Past Names] ' section, returning to it later. He goes to a different folder titled '[Keller Family] '. This folder has two entries, describing a meeting between a mysterious group titled the Keller Foundation and the SCP Foundation. They seem to be discussing funding. A person is standing in the middle of the photo, not being discernly old nor young. It seems this is Callum Keller. Is this who and why undesignated exists? The second entry shows the personnel file for a Site Advisor called Callum Keller. He is deceased, however his codename has been logged to have changed once from 'Flares' to 'B'. "Aren't codenames permanent" User-00 wonders to themself...? A footnote is read:
[...]
The origin of this Fae is unknown; the species has been extinct for decades and he seems to be the last remaning one. A vote was conducted by the Overseer Council to display all files with metadata tags or text referring to 'Foundation Origin' or 'Fae', 9 in favour, 1 abstained, 3 against. Given the nature of [c.r], the council was hesitant but needed an answer. Following the interview, [c.r] claimed to not recognise any of the files as well as noting that he didn't recognise any SCIPNET SCP files, suggesting his origin is from another timeline or amnesiac tampering.
Given the nature of the fae's abilities for your safety the hazardous information has been replaced with [c.r]. Well this has to be it, Callum Keller is a fae. Well.... no. User-00 backtracks to the '[Past Names] ' section. Now it makes sense, doesn't it? The fae have mythical control over names and control over you. Callum 'Flare' Keller seems to just have been the victim of one of these monsters. You scroll through the rest of the files labelled [A] through [G], noticing that the same file for Callum Keller is found under 'C', with a bit more information.
This fae isn't stupid it seems. No wonder it survived this long... He knows what he should know and shouldn't and only reveals as much as he needs to. It looks like every time his host dies, it's not because of his own stupidity it's because of someone elses mishap, yet he always escapes... With the foundation's O5 Council spending a large amount of resources to try and figure out if he is truly dead this time. All of the footnotes are from O5-1. They possibly have some kind of agreement.
Reading further User-00 notices a pattern, past the Site Advisor majority of the positions that this fae has held in the past have been foundation personnel, sometimes even being re-assigned to avoid suspicion. Someone's helping him.
Current Assignment:
User-00 moves chronologically between each letter, eventually ending up on the last one, [G].html. It's empty. His current identity is hidden. This drive is quite the memoire. There's only one footnote on this file, his identifying feature. You remember reading a while back that he marks the number of switches or names he's controlled. The only identifiable feature of the fae is this. His current mark is 'VII ', the roman numeral the number 7.
User-00 unplugs the drive from his device, burning all local copies and evidence of it being viewed. The drive re-encrypts. It looks ups in the mirror, the letters 'VII ' cut in blood into his arm. It's a new beggining.
