A smart board (an interactive display) is a valuable resource for teachers who know how to use it!
An Interactive display replaces a projector and a screen. It comes with a touch screen that can make teaching smoother and free teachers from, for example, the need to use a PC to advance in a presentation. Additionally, interactive displays also come with built-in software that allows them to function as a whiteboard. Here, you usually have the opportunity to write with a pen, insert images and shapes, and save what you have written for later or to post on the learning platform.
However, interactive displays are not a full replacement for chalkboards and whiteboards. A good solution is often to have an interactive screen with an "analog" whiteboard next to it. Here, for example, you can work with an app on the smartboard while using the analog whiteboard on the side for its traditional purpose. It is also worth thinking through the design you have in the classroom with regard to the whiteboards: could it be useful to have several whiteboards in different places in the room? Or a whiteboard on wheels?
Use a smart board in the TL
Here you can read a little bit about our interective displays before you visit us. Merk at du kan gjøre det meste på begge typene, men at det er noen ting en er bedre på enn den andre.
Prowise smart board (2units)
The Prowise screen provides a "two all-in-one PC" solution, combining both a traditional interactive display and a built-in computer. This means that all software that works on a regular Windows computer will also work on this one. The screen also has built-in tablet apps, so you can take notes, use GeoGebra, code, etc.
The tablet has an HDMI input that you can use to display the screen from a PC, or a USB input that you can use with a memory stick to easily open a presentation or the like. There is also a built-in speaker. In UV, we have transitions from HDMI to USB-C and VGA if needed.
For the little ones, it also has several games in spelling, math, and more. One of our tablets can be laid down horizontally so that there can be more than one tablet.
Smart screen
The smart screen was created to be simple and flexible for use in education. It has several built-in apps, including a fairly versatile "whiteboard" app that can be used for taking notes, drawing, taking time, etc. It is also connected to the Lumio software, where you can create presentations in advance that open directly on the screen.
The smart screen has an HDMI input to display the PC screen, or a USB input that can be used with a memory stick to easily open a presentation or similar. There is also a built-in speaker. In TL, we have adapters as HDMI-USB-C and VGA if needed.
The smart screen has a lot more power than the other two and is well-suited for activities that require a little more, such as using Google Earth.
