BBC Studios has announced, at the Broadcast Worldwide (BCWW) 2020 content market in Seoul, the commissioning of the critically acclaimed political drama, Undercover, by JTBC channel, to be re-made by Story TV for audiences in South Korea. This marks the first global format sale for Undercover and the third drama format collaboration between BBC Studios and JTBC channel.

The Korean version of Undercover will be produced in partnership with local drama production company, Story TV and JTBC studios renowned for developing and producing high- quality dramas with creative writers and skilled producers in South Korea.

Personally, I find the story progress of this drama very slow even when watching at 2x, as the story background seemed a bit thin for a 16-episode drama, resulting the story to be much overstretched. I was initially quite excited about this drama due to the cast, became disappointed after a couple of episodes, partly due to the fact that the pairs Jin Ji-hee/Kim Hyun-joo and Yeon Woo-jin/Han Sun-hwa were mutually exclusive.

Memory loss nothwithstanding, do you still remember the first time you de-lurked? In whatever context, whichever forum, you typed the first tentative comments about a drama that moved you. Armed with that little ounce of courage in announcing your presence in the drama-verse, I applaud you. This review has been inspired by the devotees of dramas world-wide.

The drama begins with a political conspiracy set in the Chosun era (late 16th century Korea). An unknown entity has unleashed a torrent of counterfeit coins into the marketplace, most likely in an attempt to undermine the economic stability of the current regime. The Left Police Bureau in the capital city is tasked with investigating this crime. The police must halt the proliferation of the coins at its source in order to restore stability to the populace.

The writer deftly builds the anticipation not by concealing key information, but by revealing game-changing information unexpectedly early. How does that leave the viewer in suspense, you may ask? It forces us to be powerless voyeurs watching an inevitable collision. I was left with my jaw-hanging whenever the writer conducts a course-correction, and the story takes yet another left turn. The counterfeit money conspiracy merely acts as a placeholder to intertwine our fated trio. The story development flows naturally from there when the emotional quotient is upped as the drama progresses.

Lee Seo Jin gave a commanding performance as Hwangbo Yoon, a man of strength and resolve. Yoon is the less flashy of the two male leads, but his was the character that stayed with me long after I finished this drama (and I had never seen him before prior watching Damo). His love for Chae Ohk was pure and deep, and truly touched my heart.

The drama does not manufacture characters to play such stock caricatures of The Villain, The Bumbling Idiot, The Inept Sidekick, or The Wise Old Mage. Everyone has a purpose in Damo, and their struggles and their actions feel authentic to the era and serve to propel the story forward. You will feel like you stepped right into 16th century Chosun as a voyeur into the life and struggles of ordinary and extraordinary people.

When I finished Damo, I was emotionally spent. An empty husk, left staring at the ceiling wondering what had just happened to me. I treat drama watching as pure entertainment, asking nothing more than it should be enjoyable. [And if a drama or movie stars my I Lub You or a certain Pi, then whatever remaining threadbare standards are chucked right out the window, and I will happily watch certifiable crap].

Yes, I know this sounds dramatic, and as always we are having a bit of excess fun. But the universal reaction is 100% genuine: every person I know who has watched Damo was moved by it. And that speaks for itself.

The poem below flashes after the very last scene in Damo. These seven lines encapsulate the entire drama in its spare words. And with this poem, I shall conclude this review by letting these words wash over this lovely story.

A fierce battle begins to protect love and justice from the huge forces that dominate and shake the country for profit. The drama is expected to dig into the reality of power and closely follow the story of human multifacetedness hidden in it as well as discuss what is right and wrong.

Loved this couple's previous project and I've watched it multiple times by now, which btw is rare for me as I usually don't repeat the same kdrama. Their acting & chemistry are that brilliant so obviously I was ecstatic when I read about their upcoming project

My only problem is that i just realized how similiar this synopsis was with tvn drama that will airing soon ( flower of evil ) i mean it is different character and job indeed but we got the same two men hiding their identities and both got wife too.

Kim Hyun-joo (Watcher) and Ji Jin-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) will reunite in upcoming JTBC drama Undercover, which is the Korean adaptation of a BBC show by the same name. Ji Jin-hee plays an NSA agent who has been hiding his identity for a long time. Kim Hyun-joo plays a righteous human rights lawyer who becomes the first-ever commissioner of a civil servant corruption investigations ministry.

'Undercover' is based on a BBC drama of the same name. It depicts the story of Han Jeong-hyun (Ji Jin-hee), who has been hiding for a long time, and Choi Yeon-soo (Kim Hyun-joo), the first human rights lawyer for justice. Previously, PD Hyun-wook Song of the drama'Another Oh Hae-young' and'Beauty Inside' will be in charge.

Hyunjoo Kim leads the drama with the role of 'Choi Yeon-soo', a human rights lawyer who has lived for justice and truth. Recognized for her lifelong beliefs and abilities, she goes on to become the first candidate for a Chief of the Civil Servant Corruption Investigation Unit and faces the shocking truth .

Actress Han Go-eun is transformed into a former National Intelligence Service agent, Go Yoon-ju. In the past, she plays an active role as another undercover to establish a relationship with Han Jeong-hyun (Jin Ji Hee).

Kwon Hae-hyo divides Han Jeong-hyun into 'Oh Phil-jae', who was selected as an undercover agent in the ministry . Called Ahn Gi-bu's'Casting Director', he is a person full of humanity with extraordinary affection for Han Jeong-hyun.

As Gicheul becomes aware of how much Junmo is willing to spend of himself, Gicheul spends more of Junmo in testing his loyalty and self-sacrifice. However many fights Junmo wins, the costs adds up. However much he costs opposing gangsters and henchmen, the cost to him adds up. That is dramatically interesting, philosophically compelling, and fuses the meaning and priorities of the fight choreo and the plot together into a whole. Both inform each other and change each other.

There were no stars present at Sony's Wednesday-night presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, but the studio compensated by premiering 30 minutes of footage from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, following a highlight reel of some of their other upcoming 2014 releases. Rory Bruer, the company's president of worldwide theatrical distribution, introduced the reel, which began with the comedy sequel 22 Jump Street. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum return as the bumbling undercover detectives from 21 Jump Street, and the first part of the clip showed them dealing with couples therapy together. They're then sent undercover to college (after having infiltrated high school in the previous movie), and they end up on spring break. There's an extended gag featuring a grenade down Hill's shorts, and the revelation that his character has slept with the boss' daughter.

Next up was an extended trailer for the horror movie Deliver Us From Evil, directed by Sinister's Scott Derrickson and starring Eric Bana as an NYPD detective who encounters the supernatural. The clip prominently featured reliable horror standby the creepy jack-in-the-box, and claimed that the movie is based on a true story. Also based on a true story is the football drama When the Game Stands Tall, about a high school football team that ends the longest winning streak in sports history and has to rebuild its confidence.

Looking ahead to the end of the year, next came an extended preview of the World War II drama Fury, written and directed by David Ayer and starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Jon Bernthal as the crew of a tank whose nickname gives the movie its title. "History is violent," Pitt says in one scene, and the preview showcased plenty of explosions and other wartime violence, along with a little romance. 006ab0faaa
