Tetris is a tile-matching puzzle video game originally designed and programmed by Russian game designer Alexey Pajitnov. The game consists of a playfield where shaped blocks known as "tetrominoes" fall from the top of the screen and the player must rotate and place them in order to create complete rows, which will then disappear. The game ends when the player is no longer able to fit new tetrominoes onto the playfield.
