Unako, established in 2013, works across South Africa to empower families and communities. We believe that strong families are built on mutual respect, understanding, and shared responsibility. We recognize the complexity of family dynamics and are committed to supporting all members, including men and women facing challenges.
Our Mission:
Promoting healthy communication and conflict resolution within families.
Providing resources and support for those men, woman and children experiencing domestic violence, mental health challenges, and legal issues related to child custody and legal issues.
Educating both men and women about responsible parenting and healthy relationships.
Advocating for fair and just legal systems that support the well-being of all family members.
Historically men are been prejudiced on the parenting front, Unako strives to foster Fatherhood, a human right that has been over-looked
and is the primary reason for serious social problems. Including unemployment, gangsterism, addiction, GBV , homelessness and disproportionately high suicide rates associated with depression.
Men need to be fathers, they yearn to be with their children, their mental health and will to live depends a on it.
Our mission is to keep fathers connected to their children, Unako advocates for the preservation of fatherhood across all structures.
