Welcome to my website!
Hopefully you will find some helpful information on the different tabs above to help support you through this school year. I want to be as available as I can for you. Please come see me before school, at break, or after school if you need help with anything. Parents, please encourage your students to come seek me out first before speaking on their behalf. It is one of my core beliefs that all middle school students learn to communicate directly with their teachers before moving on to high school.
This will be my 23rd year here at Union! I have spent the majority of my time teaching six grade language arts as well as all of the art electives and Read 180. Additionally, I have taught seventh grade language arts and seventh grade social studies and Quest. This year I will be adding eighth grade language arts to my schedule.
I was born in Chicago and moved out to California in 1974. I was raised in Laguna Niguel and I moved to the Central Coast to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz. There, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in sociology and then continued on to earn my Masters of Education and my teaching credential. I currently live in Scotts Valley with my husband and two daughters, Olivia and Julia, and our two cats. My spare time is spent in the garden growing vegetables that I can cook and obsessing over my compost worms.
