The overarching goal of my PhD research in Machine Learning is to understand how the black box 📦 of neural networks 🧠 💻 learns and represent the structure and the semantics of the input data 🖼️. We use a combination of analytical approaches ✍️ and extensive numerical experiments ⌨️.

Previously, I studied Statistical Physics 🧮 at the University of Padova. My master's thesis, with Prof. Valerio Lucarini, was about analyzing the response of spatially extended climate models 🌡️ to external perturbations, for example an increase of CO2 in the atmosphere ☁ .
