Personal Information: Includes text inputs, voice recordings, and photos uploaded by the user.
Identifiers: We may collect device information, such as Device IDs, IP addresses, or Advertising IDs, to improve app functionality and security.
Health-Related Data: Given the nature of UmaVoice as an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app, we may collect sensitive information to personalize and enhance the user experience.
2. Purpose of Data Collection
The information collected is used for:
Personalization: To tailor the app to user preferences and needs.
Caregiver Monitoring: To allow caregivers to track the user's progress and app usage.
Predictive Responses: To improve the app's predictive text capabilities.
App Analytics: To enhance functionality, troubleshoot issues, and optimize app performance.
3. How We Use Your Data
All data collected is securely stored on Google’s Firebase platform. Some data may be temporarily cached for quicker access and performance improvements. We use AI/ML algorithms to improve predictive text functionality but ensure that personal data is safeguarded at all times.
4. Data Sharing
We do not explicitly share user data with any third parties. However, our infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), meaning data is stored in GCP’s secure environment. In the future, we may integrate with a third-party icon library to allow users to upload personalized images, but users will be notified and able to opt out of this feature if they choose.
5. Data Storage and Security
User data is stored securely on cloud servers via Google Cloud Platform. We implement several security measures to protect user data:
Encryption: All data in transit and at rest is encrypted.
Secure APIs: We use authenticated APIs to prevent unauthorized access.
Access Restrictions: Only authorized personnel with a legitimate need have access to user data.
6. User Control Over Data
Users have control over their data in UmaVoice, with the following options:
Access and Updates: Users can access and update their data at any time through the app.

Opt-Out of Data Collection: Users can disable certain features if they wish to opt-out of data collection.
7. Third-Party Integrations

8. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
UmaVoice complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by:
Parental Consent: Requiring parental consent for any users under the age of 13. Parents or guardians must verify their consent by agreeing to this policy within the app.
Limited Data Collection: Minimizing the collection of sensitive information from child users.
