Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP; Western Massachusetts): The largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization in the world. For the past two years, our local chapter has been organizing against Israel's genocide in Gaza, calling for a permanent ceasefire and en to U.S. military aid and funding. We envision a world where all people — from the U.S. to Palestine — live in freedom, justice, equality, and dignity.

Science for the People (SftP; Western Massachusetts): SftP first formed in the US in 1969 out of the anti-war movement and lasted until 1989. With radical analysis and non-hierarchical governing structure, Science for the People tackled the militarization of scientific research, the corporate control of research agendas, the political implications of sociobiology and other scientific theories, the environmental consequences of energy policy, inequalities in health care, and many other issues. In 2014, about two hundred people came to UMass Amherst for a conference on the history and legacy of SftP, leading to the revitalization of the organization and its magazine. The Western Mass chapter is one of about a dozen chapters internationally that subscribe to a robust set of principles of unity; it offers workshops, fairs, and other events that foster critical thinking and organizing to harness STEM for social justice.

Hampshire College Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP): A student organization dedicated to raising awareness of the oppression, suffering and displacement Palestinian people have been and continue to experience under Israeli occupation and apartheid. The three main goals of this organization are education, BDS, and community building.

UMass Graduate Employee Organization Palestine Solidarity Caucus (GEO PSC): We provide a space for sustainable discussion, education, and collective action regarding the ongoing settler-colonial occupation of Palestine. We recognize the relationship between organized labor and international humanitarian causes. We seek to reaffirm GEO's 2003 resolution for divestment from Israeli occupation and 2016 endorsement of BDS. We call on UMass, UAW International, and UAW local 2322 to divest from the Israeli occupation, call on the government to end military aid to Israel, and to donate to Palestinian relief efforts.

UMass Professional Staff Union Solidarity Caucus (PSU SC): We aim to defend the rights of all workers. As UMass workers we demand a truly anti-racist, anti-imperialist, democratically-run university. As union members we have formed this caucus to answer the call for solidarity from marginalized peoples all over the world. We believe that Palestinian liberation and autonomy is a workplace issue. The many threats and challenges we face as university workers are entangled with the Palestinian struggle.

UMass Amherst Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine (FSJP): In response to the urgent call to establish Faculty for Justice in Palestine (FJP) groups across U.S. campuses, we at UMass Amherst come together to express our solidarity with students and colleagues who are organizing for Palestinian liberation and self-determination, who are facing threats and attacks for their advocacy. We understand the struggle for Palestinian liberation to be aligned with anti-colonial movements and struggles in many parts of the world, and commit to ensuring the collective right to speak on and engage in this activist work on our campus. Without a space to question and historicize colonial hierarchical power relation, academic freedom becomes impossible. As educators and workers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, we oppose all forms of colonialism, racism, and apartheid, and will work to nurture and defend our students and community when they speak out in support of Palestine.

Since 2017 our chapter has been encouraging white-identified people to engage with the practice of learning about and paying reparations to BIPOC people and communities.
