Biography

Jennie is a first-generation Portuguese American and first-generation college student. She began her college career as a community college student, where she utilized the Massachusetts Transfer Program. Currently, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Master’s Degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Leadership from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Jennie has spent the last decade serving underrepresented student populations through her various roles in higher education. She has taught as an Adjunct Professor at multiple intuitions, teaching a range of different students; but got her start teaching at a night, adult program targeting underprivileged women. Currently, Jennie teaches at the community college she once attended as a student. Prior to her current role as an Instructional Designer, Jennie worked as Financial Aid Counselor and as an Admissions Coordinator working to recruit and retain diverse and nontraditional student populations. Jennie’s unique background and experience allows her to look at Instructional Design from an inclusive lens, taking into account Universal Design and Learning Theory.
