8th Annual Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference
8th Annual Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference
The University of Limerick SIAM student chapter will host the 8th Annual Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference on Friday 21st January 2022. This will be the UL chapter's third time hosting the conference, with the previous event hosted virtually by the Dublin Area student chapter in December 2020.
This conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers, from both Ireland and the UK, in the area of applied or industrial mathematics to share their work in a one-day conference environment. The conference aims to build relationships and encourage collaboration between early career researchers from both Irish and UK institutions.
This will be a free event with lunch and evening dinner provided for all participants.
The conference will be held in room AD2-010, which is located on the second floor of the Analog Devices Building (number 41 on the campus map). The easiest way to find the room is to enter the building at the main entrance and follow the signs.
The keynote speakers for the conference will be:
Dr. Hannah Daly, Environmental Research Institute, University College Cork,
Dr. Philipp Hoevel, School of Mathematical Sciences, University College Cork.
The event is generously supported by Analog Devices and SIAM.
Registration & Abstract Submission for the conference is now open. If you have any queries, please contact siamsc.ul@gmail.com.
If you are traveling from Dublin, Dublin Coach offers a convenient service which drops you at the campus bus stop in the centre of UL (beside building 16 on the campus map). Local bus services operate from this bus stop, with Bus Éireann (route numbers 304/304a) and Dublin Coach (route number 308) providing a regular service to the city centre.
Free parking is available at the East Gate Entrance (advised, P8 on the campus map), the Schuman Building (P21 and P23), and the Sports Pavilion (P25-27). Paid parking (at a cost of €3) is available at car parks P2 (opposite the campus bus stop) and the Foundation Building (P17).
