Custom Google maps

What?

Google Maps with customised layers for campaign management
Create Areas and Streets in database which can then be visualised by their status. For example:

- Heatmap based on data research

- Target areas or streets for leafletting / canvassing

- Status (planned, scheduled, in progress, complete etc)

Why?

• Prioritise leafletting and canvassing by priority areas

• Keep track of where volunteers have said they are willing to leaflet

• Get clarity on responsibilities by lead or a group

• Visualise progress through planning, execution and completion

• Use one shared view of status accessible as required

How?

• Access possible through UKPEN's Regional Sites, should local groups so wish

• Managed by local group with support and assistance as needed primarily from David Tate, as well as Tim Lund and Gareth Steel

• Can be shared with anyone who has a Google account on Read or Read/Write basis

• Skills to edit can be taught online in 15 minutes

The data collected by groups about which streets have been targeted or covered is confidential to the group. But here is a map showing where these custom Google maps exist. We will provide links that people can use if they want to apply to edit and view these maps and a screen shot of the empty maps. Links are to UKPEN pages
